I just got a PM from a sweet lady here (MissMimi) and also 3 or 4 emails saying I had messages on the facebook wall----all wishing me a Happy Birthday.
Not that I don't appreciate it, but it's not my birthday!
What happened, you ask? My paranoia at work! When I joined facebook awhile back I was worried about "putting myself out there" for various reasons. (Mostly I didn't want people I knew in RL back home catching up to me, I guess)
Anyway, I didn't put my real birthday on the sign-up sheet----so there you go.....
My birthday is actually not far from that date, but it's not today. I'm so sorry! As I told MissMimi in answer to her PM----"My little white lie caught up to me."
I guess I should go to facebook and fess up there, too. I just didn't find it to be a website for me for two reasons:
One: It's "too busy" a website. Too much to look at, click on, keep up with. Maybe something to do with my brain?
Two: I spend what time I can on SC and I like it here. I'm comfortable and can sort of keep up with it. You see how I write a post and then don't get back to answer comments until it has already "gone cold" and faded away most of the time. How can I add facebook?
I only joined facebook because on that particular night, SC was down and I had the time to go look at it and jumped right in. I was amazed at the time, seeing people and their pics and real names. (I can't remember who was who now, except for a few people)
A friend wanted me to join, also, and I kept putting it off until that night that the lights went out in SC. I'm sorry that I've lost touch with her lately, too, and so I won't even say who I'm talking about. But if she is reading this--I apologize.
And I doubly appologize for telling a fib and getting undeserved birthday wishes! I'll save them for the real day.....a month from now.....ha.
