  It's good that you'll be there watching out for the little ones and I hope it turns out to be more fun than stress.

  Made me think of the time I volunteered to be a "zoo trip" mom for my son's class.  I didn't trust him being watched over, so I went and ended up with him and two others to watch.  It was not fun, btw!  But I made sure those three made it back home!

  Ah shit. You got schnuckered into working on a holiday. Don't feel so bad, my wife is working a 24-hour shift. She gets to see all the kids come in with Halloween disasters like razor blades in apples and gunshot wounds and fun stuff like that...

  I remember having to work seven days a week... Oh, bullshit, who am I kidding! I still do... Every once in a while I do get a well-deserved evening off, though. It's quite the bummer that yours will be watching other peoples' kids. I recommend that if they are going to eat chocolate -- and they will -- that you have plenty of tranquilizers on hand... If not for them, then for you!
