If man evolved from monkeys and apes, why do we still have monkeys and apes?

Alien-A single and very profound question that shakes the fabric of the evolutionary theory and turns it upside down.

zykore-In your faith-bashing infantile comment you failed to actually answer the question and went into this stupid rant that is completely off subject.  Could it be you don't know shit about this?

We are taught in the basic sense that humans evolved from apes.  In reality there exists apes and humans and nothing in between.  Where are the hybrid apes?  Us religious ilk who sit around clinging to our guns and religion don't just toe the line into this line of thinking and tend to lean towards a vastly intelligent being that created us and gave us free will and loves us.

Nothing is original and everything started from somewhere.  Maybe these stories are repeated over in different versions for a reason.  Either way it doesn't discount their importance.

Most atheists are morons not because they don't believe in God but because they are completely closed off from different points of view.

Please Note: this is an atheist bashing piece.

Sorry SMB, Zykore is no longer with us. At least on this post. I guess that is a Zykore bashing deal. You gotta love atheists. Atheists are like someone in the ocean denying that there is such a thing as water. And they always think they are somehow hurting the believer when, in fact, they are only hurting themselves. I just do not understand the trade off. Smuggly denying that God exists and dooming themselves to eternal nothingness versus having faith that there is a God and enjoying eternal life. They trade everything for nothingness and somehow think we are the stupid ones.

I think everyone is entitled to an opinion but the smug is just un-called for and that is what set me off.  Once can almost see the nose flipped up in the air looking down on everyone else.  These people need to grow up.

The funny thing is that evolution takes more faith than it takes to believe in creation. Show me one other planet in the reach of our vision (even with the Hubble telescope) that has a speck of life on it, let alone the complexity of life we have here. God may have other planets out there just as amazingly populated as earth, but I doubt that we will ever know about them. We might know about them when we are mature enough that is does not contradict our faith. That is probably why there are so many light years between inhabitable planets.

Alien, you speak as though atheists choose to not believe instead of believing like they have a choice in the matter. we can ask why do theists choose to believe and put their lives in the hands of a sky walker when they could see that life is a chaotic and evolution driven thing devoid of meaning or reason.

to "smuggly deny" god is the same as blindly following a story. As an atheist, its not my job to proove theres nothing there, its the task of the believer to lead me to believe that there is.

in the same way you see pride in choosing to brush yourself with the reasoning and beliefs of an archaic and immoral fable, i feel the truth lies in the sciences. when shown to be untrue or wrong, the sciences will acknowledge themselves and recalculate what they understand. a religious believer is bound to what they are told and can never waver, for to do so would, by your own scriptures, be an afront to god.

as for your "show me another planet" statement, if you had even the most basic comprehension of the vastness of space, you'd realise that compared to it, you are so infinitesimally insignificant, its the same as staring at a single ant hill in the middle of the desert and demanding to see where the proof of is of another ant hill is on the other side of the world.

the theist arguement that it takes more to believe in evoloution then in creanism is an irreverant point. to me and other non believers, your all kidding yourselves and are the remerants of a time when knoweldge in society was limited to what the priest told you. in return , i'm an infadel who's going to be judged for choosing logic over superstition and am going to be condemmed as such.

As a mathematician, I have to say the odds against all this just happening are pretty great. Believe what you like. If you were all that confident in what you believe, you would not feel the need to sling mud and belittle those who disagree with you. That is pretty common with liberals and liberal thinkers. If you cannot eat it or fuck it, piss on it, right? I had my doubts when I was younger and actually thought scientists knew what they were talking about. That is probably why people like you believe idiots like Al Gwhore when he complains about global warming, climate change, or whatever we should call the disaster du jour. Scientists are just men (or women) and their theories will most likely be proven wrong in ten or twenty years. God's word never changes. Your inability to understand God's word is not my problem. And it is not my responsibility to do anything but believe that Jesus is the son of God and that He is the only way into heaven. However, I do feel sorry for you because I was once on your little island. I understand why you think as you do. You just do not know any better, but you might someday ... when God calls you. That is His job, not mine. While I can only say things that will infuriate you, He will prove His existence to you someday in a way of His chosing. The question is: will you hear His voice?

    oh Alien, you're so lost..
  • ALIENated said on Oct 31, 2009....

I was lost for sure, but not any longer. I feel secure about my destiny. As I have told many atheists, if I am right, I spend eternity in heaven and you most likely spend eternity in hell. If you are right, we both spend eternity in the ground, in nothingness. I like my way much better ... win / nothingness for me, lose / nothingness for you. Both of our positions take faith, neither can be proven to the other's satisfaction. It is just that my beliefs produce eternal winners and your beliefs produce eternal losers. So to me, you seem to be the one that is lost ... for all eternity.

making oneself believe in something for fear of the alternative... hmmm.. hardely sounds like the wishes of a "loving" god does it?
  • stopmediabias said on Oct 31, 2009....

What it boils down to is proof of how we got here.  Proof that God exists is only circumstancial while proof that the big bang and then evolution is the overall cause is also circumstancial.

In the overall swing of the things stating everything that has come about up to this point happened by a random occurance is the same as looking at a Buick and all of its working parts and stating it just bopped into existence as part of a random occurance.

Maybe it is all random and it is far beyond our comprehension to except the vast odds of a Buick eventually appearing from the big bang and that is what happened.  But maybe an intelligent being started the ball rolling by designing everything and that is what happened.  Either way it is smug and arrogant to just discard one side of the issue because daddy made you read scripture or some pervert preist touched your peepee or whatever reason atheists close themselves off.

  • ALIENated said on Oct 31, 2009....

I think most atheists are just comfortable with their life of sin and they do not want anyone telling them that there might be a price to pay. What most atheists do not know is that belief in Jesus frees you to be what God meant for you to be. I do think you are on to something about atheists being turned off by some bad experience with religion or supposedly religious people. I really hate that people judge Christianity by every so called Christian they meet. Most Christians are far from perfect. I liken it to people walking down a wide road. Real Christians are walking toward God even though they may be walking near the edge, near the gutter. Atheists (and people who claim to be Christians, but are not) are walking in the opposite direction, away from God.

Because that's not how it works.  That's not even remotely how evolution works ALIEN.
  • ALIENated said on Nov 12, 2009....

    Prove it.

  • SeanRenaud said on Nov 12, 2009....

Great.  It's gonna be like Andycox and why people don't work for free.  I guess I'll try a different approach to an old problem.

    1.  Do you believe that fish are better suited to living in the water than frogs?

  • ALIENated said on Nov 13, 2009....

Dude, you can no more prove evolution than I can prove creation. They both take faith. My original post, above, came from one of those email lists that contain funny statements like that. I just thought that it was a funny statement. I still believe that Genesis is symbolic, that God created Man (not just A man) and Woman. Just as the Old Testament is filled with laws about food because it was too soon for people to understand germs, the concept of Adam and Eve may have been easier for everyone to understand. Even those who take the story literally have no problem believing that the snake is a symbolic satan, the devil. It is hard to deny that there were cavemen, but I find it hard to believe that they coexisted with dinosaurs. I figure there were man-like creatures before there were people like us, but they were probably more like monkeys and apes than like humans. I have heard preachers say that the Adam and Eve story is literal and if it is not literal, the whole Bible breaks down. If there was no literal Adam and Eve that were tempted by the devil, there would be no need of a mortal savior, Jesus. If Adam did not fall, there would be no reason for Jesus. Personally, I can as easily accept that Mankind fell to sin once Man began eating from the tree of life (wisdom and understanding), but I may be missing something. Whatever happened, I think that God created everything. Whether Adam and Eve are literal or symbolic does not affect my faith in God either way. It really does not matter to me what the specifics are. All that will be explained when I get to heaven. I think that most people only care about evolution because it somehow proves to them there is no God, no supreme being. Even if evolution happened exactly as scientists think, that would not contradict my faith in God.

  • SeanRenaud said on Nov 13, 2009....
Wow I give a simple question and you basically admit you believe evolution as long as it doesn't conflict with Adam and Eve.
  • ALIENated said 12 days ago....

You might want to re-read what I wrote. The first couple of sentences are the meat. The rest is simply a what if, could be, who knows statement. Let me put it this way, if I came up with undeniable proof that Adam and Eve were the first man and woman and were created by a supreme being, would you be in church tomorrow? I am assuming you are not normally in church, but you see what I mean.

  • SeanRenaud said 11 days ago....

If you could provide even reasonable proof that Adam and Eve were created I'd be religious.  I might choose to be a Jew (they had the story before you), I might choose to be a Muslim (they are the most recent addition and in theory should have the most updated information.

    Still simple question.

    1.  Are fish better at somethings than frogs?

  • ALIENated said 10 days ago....

Dude, there is no logic trick that you can pull to make me CARE whether evolution or creation is the final answer. Jesus is the final answer. It is just that simple.

  • stopmediabias said 10 days ago....

Sean- can you come up with a reason as to why we have apes and humans with a massive space in between?  Millions of years and apes are still shitting their pants and eating their young.

There is just as much reasonable proof in creation as there is in a big bang that eventually brings skycrapers and computers.  You guys fall right into line into buying that crap but scoff at any idea of creation, typical.

And Jesus was a Jew, the Jewish story is our story.

A new dinosaur named Tatankacephalus cooneyorum, was recently unearthed in Montana. For me it's not a particularly exciting find. It's a rather standard addition to the anklosaur family, a group of armored dinoraurs with club like tails. It is surmise...

Is Obamacare simply a blank check?
