This morning I'm struggling with the idea that I may be forgetable.  Who'd have thunk it?  I mean, I've always kinda assumed I was unforgetable at least as a side note or after thought.  If for not the right reasons even.

So then obviously the next question will be .....

1. Do you think there is anyone who is unforgetable to everyone?
2. What makes someone unforgetable to you?
3. Who is the most unforgetable person you've ever met?
4. Do you consider yourself to be unforgetable?
5. Is it silly for me to even entertain this line of thought?

Okay, the last question is self serving, but humor me please.

    1.  You mean the same person unforgettable to everyone?  I think there are people everybody's heard of, but I don't know if that's the same thing.

    2.  That's another hard one.  It depends.  I think a lot depends on how much and how deeply they affected me.  Really memorable shared experiences.  Milestones.  I have no idea, uni.

    3.  The first person that came to mind is a special friend I no longer speak to.  I'll remember him til the day I die.

    4.  Me?  Oh hell no.

    5.  No, I don't think it's silly.  I know why you're thinking about it, and it's perfectly understandable.  It occurs to me that if one finds you forgettable, it's their loss.

    1. There are people like me who are very, very, very  forgetable.
    2. The way a person talked, wrote and lived makes them unforgetable 2 me.
    3. my grandmother & Bon Scott will never be forgotten by me.
    4. as far as soulcast goes you will always be remembered for the things that you wrote, and write..

    questions are always good.

    1. Do you think there is anyone who is unforgettable to everyone? Yes, they are known as authors, poets, and artists.

    2. What makes someone unforgettable to you?
    There inspiration in my life,
    for you specifically,
I find you draw out deeper wisdom from me, and I appreciate the experience.

    3. Who is the most unforgettable person you've ever met?
lol, I know so many people all of them haver there place in my mind, and in my heart.  One does not get a greater place in there, more about efforts.
If someone needs more help, they get more help.

    4. Do you consider yourself to be unforgettable?
I think in the end people I help will get "credit for my work"

    lol,

    I do not mind,
as long as the message remains the same,
    and it helps people.

Ideally I would like to be connected with them,
as a partner thats kind of my thing.
    Working together, and helping.

    5. Is it silly for me to even entertain this line of thought?
    Your thoughts,
    are your thoughts,

What you do at the time you do it is right,
Even after you do it is still right,

As long as you draw wisdom from the experience there is nothing ever wasted.

    Till next time,
    My friend.

    MMM - well, I think you're unforgetable

mixed - sometimes it is the way they do those things that makes them stick in your mind.

Mr. - I'm sure many people will remember you
  • Hegemone said on Oct 28, 2009....
    1. Do you think there is anyone who is unforgetable to everyone?  I don't think there is one single person who is capable of being 100% forgotten, there's always SOMEONE who remembers, even if they have to dig in the recesses of their mind a little to remember.
    2. What makes someone unforgetable to you?  I think this is circumstantial, it just depends on where our paths crossed, why, what happened along the way and for how long.
    3. Who is the most unforgetable person you've ever met?  My grandma, except, I irrationally get scared when I feel like I'm having a harder time remembering things, although I know I'll never forget her.
    4. Do you consider yourself to be unforgetable?  To at least one person, yes.  As much as I'd like to say 'my husband' (probably true, but I'll not get too full of myself, lol), I know my mom would never forget me.  Probably not my dad either, but I might live a little more stress free if he did ... he wouldn't aim his missiles at me, lol.
    5. Is it silly for me to even entertain this line of thought?  Well, yes and no, pardon me if I get lengthy.  No because it's totally understandable to be taken aback when you find out that you apparently were forgettable to someone.  You've got to process those thoughts and emotions just as much as you would any other.  They're valid because they made you feel something, so therefore it gives it priority, or importance.  Yes, because while you do need to process the feelings and thoughts, you've got to make sure not to obsess over them.  You aren't forgettable to EVERYONE, and to those who have forgotten you, maybe they aren't worth it anyway, because if enough time has passed that they could forget you ... well, there's a reason you haven't made yourself available in their lives so they can remember you ... so why worry over someone who's not worth your time anymore anyway?  Keep in mind, you may have been forgettable to one, but you're NOT forgettable to all, me being one of those who view you as unforgettable.
  • uniquely-ironic said on Oct 28, 2009....
Hege - I sometimes do the scared because I can't remember a detail about someone I loved.  I guess for whatever reasons, it's not a waste of mental energy to at least contemplate why I would be forgetable to someone.
  • Hegemone said on Oct 28, 2009....
Oh yeah, and also, as you said, it is not a waste of mental energy to contemplate it, you are right.  That at least may lead to the road of some self improvement, OR you being able to figure out that that person forgot you for an utterly stupid, insignificant, irrational reason and that you're damned good no matter what they think.
  • hairbrushedhubby said on Oct 28, 2009....

    1 Who said that?

2 They gave me a million pounds

    3 My darling wife

    4 What's my name again?

5 Hang on, does that mean I have to think?

  • uniquely-ironic said on Oct 28, 2009....
Hege - I tend to internalize these kinds of stupid thoughts, but the benefit is that I use them to find ways to improve myself.

HBH - no, I would NEVER force thought onto another human ;)

Hi Uni - and NO,you are not forgettable, but I would say that the answers to these are pretty easy and should just be answered without too much thought. So,here goes:

    1. Do you think there is anyone who is unforgetable to everyone? No,everyone arrives in your life for a reason,no matter how mundane that may be
    2. What makes someone unforgetable to you?Quite a few things, but nothing specific
    3. Who is the most unforgetable person you've ever met?I have not met that person yet
    4. Do you consider yourself to be unforgetable? That depends on by whom and for what reason
    5. Is it silly for me to even entertain this line of thought? YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS

cj - LOL you are a good friend.  So you're expecting to meet Ms. Unforgetable?!!
  • travelr712 said on Oct 28, 2009....

i tend to be unforgettable, people i haven't seen for years or even decades that i don't remember still remember me and my name. i think it's because i have some pretty unique perspectives and personality traits that makes me different from most people they know, which makes me stand out, which makes me unforgettable. but not to everyone.

so, do you mean will people remember you years later, or do you mean do people think about you all the time?

  • uniquely-ironic said on Oct 28, 2009....
trav - well the incident that tripped this was more of a remember me within an hour, but then I wondered more about long term remembering.
  • Lucytorial said on Oct 28, 2009....
Some are memorable becase of their wide spread appeal for humanity/fame etc

There is no rhym or reason, some people just stick in your mind.

The most unforgetable person I have met is a little old lady when I was 22 yrs old - she is my only female roll model.

I'm unforgetable to those who I connect with for sure

Its certainly a fun train of thought.

LMAO yes! exactly!  she was developing her people skills!  You see, it's really not about the actual job, but what skills you learned.  I say, if you can keep johns in order you have a real career in customer service.
  • Lucytorial said on Oct 28, 2009....
She should have asked for references from the clients about customer service huh?

Its true, most skills are transportable and manipulatable to many varied jobs.

    1. Do you think there is anyone who is unforgetable to everyone?
For a life time of someone else, maybe. For all eternity, no.
    2. What makes someone unforgetable to you?
A connection, either emotional or similar.
    3. Who is the most unforgetable person you've ever met?
I am unsure. None I guess.
    4. Do you consider yourself to be unforgetable?
Yes, for those who get to know me.
    5. Is it silly for me to even entertain this line of thought?
Why should it? Most want to be remembered even after they are gone.
  • uniquely-ironic said on Oct 28, 2009....

Oh, i am unforgettable (did you people forget about that?....lol..)

I never forget a thing, and i remember all the people that touched my heart because of their way of being non only toward me but toward the life in general  ...:-)

Here in the States what people can't forget about me is my accent ....lol.....
  • javadewd said on Oct 28, 2009....
    1. Do you think there is anyone who is unforgettable to everyone?

Sure. An existentialistic friend of mine once told me that you should always leave an impression. Whether good or bad, people will remember you, and most of the time if you space out your impressions wide enough, people won't remember if the impressions you made were good or bad, they'll simply remember you always.

    2. What makes someone unforgettable to you?

The impressions they have left on me, whether good or bad. Whether it be the bully from seventh grade or the girls from junior high who broke my heart, they are memorable.

    3. Who is the most unforgettable person you've ever met?

That's a tough one. I'd have to say my cousin Gary. It's a long story...

    4. Do you consider yourself to be unforgettable?

Only when people consider me to be their enemy.

    5. Is it silly for me to even entertain this line of thought?

I think so. At some point you reach that level of maturity where you realize that you've been taking on the burdens of other people. Soon you realize that they don't care if you're taking the burdens off of them or not, at which point you then come to realize that you weren't doing it for them in the first place, nor were you doing it for your own benefit, and that you were simply doing it. This is the definition of "is." To be. Just do. The purpose of most of us in this life is to simply be do-er's. So do. Don't worry about what everybody else thinks. Eventually they'll mature enough that they'll figure this all out, too.

  • javadewd said on Oct 30, 2009....
It actually takes more thought and energy not to do, especially in my case, but perhaps it's just my OCD kicking in... Mental blocks, irrational fears [false evidence appearing real], denial and that sick feeling of being overwhelmed takes more out of me than actually getting the job done. Sometimes that speed bump looks more like a two-story building, but the solution is always to change your perspective. It's all smoke and mirrors down here anyway. When that silhouette that looks like a big scary bear turns out to be an obnoxious gerbil with a flashlight, I feel kind of dopey that I didn't see the original problem for the simplicity that it was in the first place.
