Norway is somewhere I've always wanted to go.

I have always been intrigued by Nordic history and culture so when I was given a week holiday last month, I jumped straight on the internet and booked 2 tickets for my partner and I to Oslo.

I reserved a fantastic room, (with an even more fantastic double bed), at The Rica Holberg Hotel in the centre of Olso.

We were both set on doing some serious sight-seeing and so my partner found a really great car hire website www.your-carhire.co.uk and pre-booked a smashing Ford Ka to take us from A to B.

We arrived in quite a sleepy state on the Friday morning, having got up at a crazy hour to catch the plane, we were so pleased to find that the car rental desk was in a really obvious place in the arrivals terminal.

We took our car straight to the hotel, passing Karl Johans gate, Aker Bridge and the Royal Palace on the way.  We dumped our bags and got straight back in the car to so some serious exploring.

The most amazing sights were the Kon-Tiki Raft, the Norwegian Folk Museum, the Viking ships, Holmenkollen ski jump with the Ski museum and the Vigeland Sculpture Park.

We spent 5 really wonderful days together, very romantic, my partner and I were so relaxed, we didn't argue at all - except when I drove the car hire on the wrong side of the road one time...!

Oslo is such a wonderful city, so much to see and do.  I really wish we could have seen more of the fjords - maybe next time.

The nightlife was excellent, loads of nightclubs open until 3, although my husband and I would have enjoyed that in our day, we stuck to quite evenings in a nice jazz bar.

I would really recommend a trip to the city!  The hotel was wonderful but there are many more, equally comfortable and affordable hotels in the centre.  Car hire was such a great idea and I'm so glad we did it. Thank you Your Car Hire! - A super holiday, I've never been so relaxed.
