In an effort to get more exercise hubby found some golfing irons and baught some second hand golf balls.
Our front lawn is about a par three/four green. Yes its that long, it takes a whole five hours to mow the bastard to so we had to devise a way of getting our worth out it.
I have discovered that I am not only very good at golf, but I really freaking enjoy it!
The lawn slopes down for the first run and I beat hubby by three strokes LOL on the way UP its more difficult, and I still beat him by three shots.
Obviously I'm no tiger woods but I tell ya there is something about golf that gets me smiling and laughing all the way to the winning stage.
I even got on line to make sure I get the right hold on the clubs, the right swing and although we didn't play yesterday (sunday) I practiced my swing and my shuffle LOL
So rather than embarrass myself at a proper golfing green as a greenhorn I'm getting my game up and then I'm hitting a 19 hole game. My goal is to do this by Christmas.
I also found out that golf if you are ding the correct swing is brilliant exercise for my osteoporosis, the walking = weight bearing the swing = balance and movement building for my back bones.
All round I've found a formalsied exercise that suits my physical condition and also suits my mental state (yeh yeh stop laughing we all know I'm a little mental no need to rub it in)
I didn't think I'd ever enjoy hitting a little white ball on grass, with a long thin stick the best fun I'd had in a long time.
