So friday I was having a 'discussion' with my friend about God. I told her I couldn't put my faith into someone who was quite literally a homophobe. How can someone who claims that we are all His children and that He loves us all and then turn around and reject a perfectly good person just because they love someone of their own kind? It just doesn't make any sense.
And I'm sure this is why.
Now before I begin let me just say I am a firm believer in what science and logic have to offer and I don't really give a fuck who I offend.
So now that I've got that out of the way, I will commence with my rational. To me, the bible's only purpose is to answer questions asked during a time when there was no such things as science or anything like that. The thing I like most about science is that its solid. If you wnna know what something is, then you form a hypothesis. And then you take that hypothesis and do some expiraments. And you take the info you gathered and draw a conclusion. And then boom, your either wrong or right. Quite simple, really.
And then theres religion. Mainly, Christianity. To me, the bible is like air. I have nothing to grab hold of. And unlike science, anytime I ask for proof of God and things of that sort I'm told I just simply have to believe. Believe. Thats it. I'm just suppose to believe He exists and that the things stated in the bible make sense. Wow, what a way to justify everything you believe in and the way you live your life.
I could go on and on about religion, and I probably will in later posts. So what are your stances on religion, sexual orientation, and hell why not BBQ?
