I am in the beginning stages of making a charity that works a little different then the rest.
odd a guy like me would do that...

anyways, what I am trying to do is make a group and get people together with those that can help them, I have made lots of friends out of people from this site, and a few others.
Also in person and so on.
I meet wonderful, wise, capable people every time I walk outside, check my email, and or answer my phone.
I will say this to have a place, that connects them and helps promote there skills and abilities is needed. Having it as a none profit makes sense as it should be free.
If you want to be involved let me know, I would love to get you in this circle that is forming.
Location is irrelevant, the more spread we are the better, think of yourself as the seed in your local community.
