If you read my last post, you'll know that we had a mishap with with changing over our tv subscriber.  If not, that's ok.

Just wanted to add anyway that I came home from work today to find the mister installing an extention to the old Dish Net pole, so we could change from Comcast to Direct TV.

I had to thread the mile long cord from out back to the deck, through the lattice, into the house and into the plug....(and remember to turn on the lamp so the power would be on.)

Then I had to go hold the metal pole while he stood on a ladder and used his drill to make holes in the metal.

I wore sunglasses for eye protection in the cloudy day skies, and he took off his glasses because he was sweating.....but:

He finally got through, used some screws and came down from the ladder telling me that we were now "good to go."

Don't ask...it's too complicated a story by now, but we called back and got them to come back and re-install us so we can have tv now on Friday.

We saved $75 by doing this pole work ourselves, the guy who came the other day is in trouble at work, and hubby feels happy so I guess it's all good.

I did mess up when I used the internet to get our $99 rebate because I was scrunched over by the computer with room for hubby to sit on a stool beside me,  and mispelled my own email address.

We'll see how that goes after "24 hours."  (the lady said)   If we don't get the rebate, I will end up paying the $99 myself just to make peace....

But hey, I'll be able to watch tv soon, knowing I had a hand in getting it done.

And I don't even have to pretend to be the neighbor!

Well glad to hear all's well that ends well now.  Life can be tough without that reliable 'ol TV can't it?

Hegemone:  "All's Well That Ends Well..."  Yea, I guess...  I'll be able to watch American Idol this winter while I'm unemployed......

Well, guess at the sound of that ... all hasn't ended as well as I thought, or at least it isn't gonna.  :-\

Hegemone:  No, actually I'm looking forward to being unemployed!  And also looking forward to long winter nights of just watching tv.   Next Spring you might see me here worried a bit.....

Ah, gotcha now.  I was almost afraid I'd misunderstood, lol.  I didn't want to be insensitive.

The way I see it that company should put you on the payroll. I've got satellite, hell I can probably pull in a zillion channels, problem is I don't watch much tv. My wife does, a little . . . who cares if Victor needs a new heart or not ? Who the hell is Victor anyway ?

Hmmm sounds complicated.  and confusing.  I'm not sure why cable companies are that way.

at leats you have cable now... our here sucks ass!!! well can't blame the company becuase of teh stroms...

anyway i hope you get a job soon...

CayenneMan:  Sorry--just saw this.....and that's funny because we had to take the pole down afterall.  They wanted the pole to be 2" in diameter inside, not outside!  Hubby had to pay the man $30 extra to fix it, but we got tv back today!

When I figure out how to use the new remotes, I'll watch a little tv.  Strangely, I got your joke.

U-I:  Well at least we got a different guy today to help with the install.  I wonder if the other guy got fired.

Queen:  Sorry your cable sucks ass.  I don't care that much for tv, but it's like, when it's gone--you are missing something available if you want it.  I mostly use tv for noise and company, and for a night light!

But I'm not looking for a job.  I'm counting the days till I can quit the one I have.  Maybe 15 working days--maybe a few days more if they are doing overtime........

And, while I have you here (maybe)  hope you are ok!  I heard there might be another hurricane, but haven't heard about one on the news.

I heard about Pandora Radio today, but I guess it's really nothing new. It's a website where you can type in your favorite song, artist, composer etc... and create a streaming station of similar songs.

I got confuzzled when I stopped in to get gas where I used to work, and the new lady there, who I've talked to some, interupted me with a question.

"What? Where'd you hear that?"
