I knew it was coming. . .I kept get excited every time I got home from work. . . MissMimi said it was on it's way. . .
Mimikins said she had parcelled the little gifts up (plural!!!) and sent them on their way.
I had no idea what was coming. All I knew was that my dear, darling hunnybunch had sent me a parcel, with love, all the way across the ocean.
Hubby checked the mail box Saturday as soon as the postie had been as I was still in Jimmy Jammys (PJs in laymen terms ha ha). It had arrived!!!! There on the box, staring at me on a little white label was MissMimi's name and address. I was so excited. It didn't matter to me so much what was in the box, it was the fact that my friend had thought of me and sent me a gift.
As I slowly opened the box - you know - as you do to make it all last as long as possible lol - I was amazed when as I saw the most beautiful shade of my favourite colour....purple. Of course! Typical Mimikins to think of that. The personal touch in more ways than one. She had knitted me 3 gorgeous little mats. Well, that is what I am using them as - they can be wash cloths also but I love having them on display. One is white with the image of a swan knitted into the pattern. So clever! Another is deep purple with 4 rows of a braded like pattern running vertical and the other is purple and white done so cleverly as you will see in the photos.
All 3 are sitting neatly on my wooden mantlepiece, hanging over the edge with the outside ones held in place by little tealight candles in pretty glass painted jars and the swan as the centre piece just tucked under our wedding photo :-)
That's not all though folks. . . oh no. . . there was more. A beautiful, delicate fragrance was eminating from my little box of pricelessness. I pulled out a round bar of lilac coloured soap that had a smell you wanted to fall into. The fragrance is lavender and honey and is divine. Even Aero kept trying to get into it till I moved it out of his way lol!
Finally I pulled out the most amazing little gift. My dear friend Mimikins affectionately calls me Sugar Plum. I love that nickname she has given me and I'll tell you now no one else is allowed to call me that lol! There were the two little packs of Post-it notes, one pale pink and one pale blue, each with a funny little picture of a penguin on. The amazing thing is that the pink ones said Sugar Plum just under the penguin!!! How cool is that eh?!?!
I would have put this post up sooner but I've had a very poorly finger (that's probably another story) and so was not feeling up to downloading photos from my mobile and organising them on flicker then typing lots and lots. Been difficult at work too lol!
And so, to Mimikins or, as I call her, hunnybunch, thank you so much my darling for sending such a precious gift to this silly soppy woman in the UK who cannot always express just what your friendship has meant to me.
If anything goes wrong with this post or the flicker pics, after all the time it's taken to do, you will all hear me scream across the pond including Lucy all the way in Oz ha ha!!
Well. . . I put all the photos in a set particular order, ensuring the curser was in the right place when I copied the code from flicker, so the pics should have been in the order I wrote about them. No way will they move now - oh buggar!!! At least you can see how lovely they all are :-)
