The page you were looking for no longer exists

The same kind of rocks all gather up together in the same area, maybe because of their weigh, color or texture.

The little ones, the pebbles are the best of all. They are so shiny and bright with a smooth outside.

Looking for rocks on the river bank, if i want to see them better, i must get closer to see.

The ones that are made up of so many materials to form a single rock are the most interesting ones.

I can spot a pretty rock a long ways off.

Some of the rocks that i am just drawn to, i pick them up and check them out! ;~)

The brain rocks, the ones that look like a brain, they are alittle plain and all but the inside is full of sparkling beauty.

I always love the colorful ones, they stand out from the rest.

I'll never pass up a chance to gather a fossil or two. They are usually kinda of washed out but you look closer and they are full of history.

I can drop a rock amongst thousands on the river bank but i can found it instantly again.

Some of the ugliest rocks are the prettiest ones inside.

Sometimes i have to dug around and under all the plain rocks to found the pretty ones.

For every rock on the river bank there are hard heads in life.

CW ~ Thank you. it was a bright sunny somewhat warm day on the river. a tad windy. i had to go out and just sit, soak up the sun and write. it was a peaceful day. i hope yours was too.

    I really like this,
    and it's quite true,
the part about the ugly rocks being the prettiest inside?
    I find it's a lot like people.
Kinda like don't judge a book by it's cover, don't judge a rock by it's outside color and shape! (:

It must be hard to exist as a rock along the bank of a river. If I were a rock along the bank of you're river you'd probably have to look mighty hard to find me. I wouldn't roll along with all the common rocks. I'd be outstanding like a smooth operator choosing the softest sand as my pillow. My reflection would be brilliant both night and day and yet I'd remain out of sight until I chose to be found. That's just the way it would be if I were a rock, I think. Not even a common hard head would know for sure.
I was roasting marshmallows in my fireplace a little while ago. I like to catch them on fire and get them gooey. As a kid I could easily eat a dozen of them. Now I eat three and wish I hadn't  eaten any :o) .  Not a great way to end my night after enjoying a pig roast. You talk about good food, my oh my . . . .I sure as hell would do it again. Weird though, considering I have some Jewish blood running through my veins. Have a great night. I'm very tired, I think I'll sleep like a rock tonight  ;o) .

Travelr ~ after i reply here, i'll load the Led Zeppelin song, cool song too. i haven't heard it in years. Thank you! *smile*

Euphonious ~ *smile* pleasing to the ears huh! cool! if i was a rock once upon a time, i would be a ruby. so what kind would you be?

Cayenne ~ it is hard to be a rock on the river banks, always being toss all around. sometimes they get sucked back in the river and are out of sight, till they surface again. huh so you would be a smooth operator and choose the soft sand as your pillow .... so it was you that i sat on! *smile* i alway find that place of sand to sit and enjoy the river. so, see, you can't hide all the time. ;~) mostly from an old rockhound. i roast my marshmallows slowly till they are golden brown.

Ginger ~ i have been running the Ohio river most of my life,  in IL., IN., KY.  the wildlife, the boats, the rocks, the flowers, the artifacts....just the feel of the river draws me. heck, all waterways draws me and i'm a fire sign, go figure. if i want to climb rocks i go to The Garden of Gods in IL. i have fallen myself, not good at all!

Travelr ~ lol.... poor baby! i see you are rested up.... i'll listen as soon as i get done.

Hegemone ~ Thank you. i think rocks and people are pretty cool too! *smile*

NewSoul ~ hello! i find these ugly old plain brown rocks that are broke open and they have different colors in them, too cool! no, you can not judge a book by its cover or a rock by it's outside. a diamond is an ugly little thing till it is cut and polished. *smile*

Thank you everyone! xo Take care! ~see ya

I have always loved collecting rocks, and paning for gold in the rivers.

Personally I find people to be more like dogs.
They walk around until something happens; they react.

As for why they lie like they do (the rocks) it has to do with that water sorts matter after density (specific gravity) but also after size to some extent.

But they have something in common with the rocks; most go with the flow.
A few are big enough to stand firm though.

    Regards,
    Voltaire

Catch22 ~ good morning. yup, me too. i panned for gold in Oregon a few years ago. i even found silver and black diamonds when i was panning for gold. too cool of a time. i'll always remember those days. i felt so free and happy! i'll always be a rockhound! *smile*

Voltaire ~ lol....dogs! no! i react even if i have no means to do so....so.... bow wow. i know why the rocks stay together, and yes, they do all go with the flow. the big one may stay put, but the sand and mud can also cover them up so you can't see them too! *smile*

Eagle ~ when you are a rockhound like myself.... all rocks are beautiful to me! but i always look inside to see what their true colors are! *smile*

You All have a wonderful weekend! xo take care ~see ya

    MMI,
Doesn't a dog also do that sometimes? The "alpha" dog can do so, for example.
Yes a bigger rock can be covered in mud/sand etc but at the next big flood it might get free again. SO question is... Is life like a river? :d

Voltaire, is life like a river.... huh well life is ever changing with so many different currents. they say don't ever fight the river, just go with the flow ... maybe so. ;~)

Ginger ~ you never know what you'll get huh! *smile*
