I am so dead ass tired right now. It's not fair. No, really it is.
After spending a few hours cooking we were finally able to enjoy that mouth watering, delectable spaghetti. Totally worth all of the time and effort. Also, in that amount of time I decided to make a couple of batches of cookies this year for the holiday season. I'll be trying out my grandma's sugar cookie recipe as well as chocolate chips, and probably some other kind of cookie when my husband decides what he really wants, that's within reason.
Beyond that I also figured out what we're going to have for our anniversary dinner, even though that's not until Nov. 21. T-Bone steaks, mashed potatoes, brown gravy, and sauteed, seasoned veggies. Making my mouth water just to think about it. Oh, and then there's dessert. I'm surprising him. He knows what we're having for the dinner, but he doesn't know the dessert I've got planned. I'm going to make an angel food cake. On top of it I'm going to put a very light powdered sugar icing, then strawberries with a little strawberry syrup drizzle, and on top of that I'll flake/shave just a little bit of chocolate. THAT has got me raring to go already, lol. It won't be completely forbidden because at least it's an angel food cake, but it won't be bland either. I can't wait.
Beyond that, we have almost all of the windows in the house sealed up. All we've got left is our bedroom and the kitchen, which will take hardly any time at all. It's a huge improvement on the temperature in the room, and it's also a huge improvement on timing, considering we didn't do this until nearly the end of the year last year. It's a relief knowing that it's most of the way over with.
On top of that, I got an opportunity tonight that I did not waste. I mentioned having a bug up my butt for some cleaning and organizing? Well, apparently that bug passed a friend to my husband. Yes, he willingly helped me rearrange the den. He went through the closet also and cleared a lot of things out of it, and he went through this tote we've had in our bedroom forever and cleared some things out of that (so he could put the things from the closet in there). That tote will be going to the farm tomorrow along with another big box of junk, and then we've also got all the trash, and of course the clothes I cleared out yesterday.
The den looks awesome, it somehow even looks roomier. My husband and I have our chairs situated now so that we're sort of sitting next to one another instead of across the room from each other. We just have a table between us, which works wonderfully compared to what was in here. There's a lot more surface space on it, and actually a second shelf below the top. Everything is all nice and neat and there's room for everything! This room is nowhere near as much of an eyesore as it was growing to be. There are still things to do, but it was getting too late. Also, we both want to get into the computer room and do some maneuvering around in there.
Yup, this will be a good weekend. Food's made, the room is rearranged, more cleaning is to be done, tons have already been done, and well, it's just good. I don't have to explain it all. It just IS.
