Eternal Security is promised in Gods word. It is a gift and we are not supposed to neglect the gifts of God.
Let us examine this chapter.Read it very carefully and prayerfully.
Romans Chapter 8
Condemnation is for the unsaved. Those who are in the flesh.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Christ condemned sin in the flesh (carnal mans nature.)
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh.
The righteousness of the law is performed in Christians who walk after the Spirit...... the unsaved are in the flesh because remember the last verse above....sin was condemned in the flesh.
That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
The carnal person or unsaved are in a state of death.Those who are after the flesh are flesh or carnal people,unredeemed.This unsaved position cannot please God or in other words,the works of the flesh or an unsaved person cannot be justified in Gods sight.
One must be redeemed and in a spiritual state to please God.
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
For to be carnally minded is death[/B but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
If one is in the Spirit or has Gods Spirit,born again,(this is positional folks and does not mean situational)one is not in the flesh.Is redeemned out of that carnal state.
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. [/B]
If you are in Christ then your body will corrupt in death but your spirit has life because of Gods spirit that dwells in you. Born of the Spirit is a miraculous occurence and does not occur by the will of man but the will of God.Yes, God does choose who he wants to make born again but that is because he alone knows the true hearts. Many say lord, lord but are not really surrended to Jesus. They love the world,the praises of men,and self. Some can even masquarade as believers and these are the tares but put the light of Gods word on them and the fruit is soon made evident.
And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Therefore, since we are bought with a great price,
we are not in debt to live like a carnal unsaved person because the unsaved person will eternally die.The Spirit of God makes us positionally crucified with Christ and his holy Spirit mortifies or disciplines our body which is not in a reedeemed state as of yet....some Christians do not realize that our spirit is born again and cannot eternally die because it has been supernaturally regenertaed....so how can it be lost... but this mortal flesh which is controled by the 5 sences will die as it is corrupt. So Gods Holy Spirit helps us discipline the body and keep it under.Flesh is the carnal nature but the body is the physical shell that opertates by the brain and other organs...hormones,nerves,memory patterns ect. This body must be controled so that it does not control us.Our redeemned spirits are still inside our bodies in order to be attatched to this natural realm. Without it we would be in the spiritual realm. Redeemned bodies have not been given to Christians yet.
Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
We have just found out through the word above that if someone does not have Christs Spirit then they do not belong to him but if we have his Spirit then we are Gods children and he is our father.We have been adopted into his Family by the born again process. GODS SPIRIT IN US REVEAL WE BELONG TO HIM...THIS IS THE FRUIT ...THE EVIDENCE
[B]For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
NOT ONLY ARE WE CHILDREN BUT ALSO JOINT-HEIRS WITH CHRIST.ONE DAY WE WILL BE GLORIFIED BUT NOW BECAUSE WE ARE IN THIS MORTAL FRAME WE TEMPORARILY EXPERIENCE SUFFERINGS.One day we will be changed into his glorious image and have glorified bodies.
And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ, if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
All of Creation will one day be reedeemed along with our bodies but for now we have the firstfruits of the Spirit... the holy Spirit of promise that resides in our regenerated spirits.
For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
We are saved by hope and the hope we now have is awaiting the redemption of our bodies so they will be like Jesus glorified body!
For we are saved by hope, but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
The Spirit of God helps us with the weakness of the unredeemned body and directs us in our prayer life to pray forth the will of God.
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities, for we know not what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
God is working all things that happen in our lives for his good and for eternal purposes.He foreknew us from the foundation of the world because God knows the beginning from the end and he has predestined ( To fix upon, decide, or decree in advance; foreordain.) real born again Christians to be conformned into Christs image.( with redeemned bodies)God has called born again Christians to himself and justified them, (to declare free of blame, absolve)and glorified.(To cause to be or seem more glorious or excellent than is actually the case)
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Nothing can seperate the born again believer from God.We are Gods elect (To decide, especially by preference) ]
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. 34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Because we are born of Gods Spirit we are in enmity with the world. Both evil Spirits and the carnal man hate God who lives in us by his Spirit and so we are persecuted but still we are conquerors in this life through Christ.
As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING CAN SEPERATE US FROM JESUS CHRIST BECAUSE WE ARE BORN OF HIS SPIRIT AND SEALED BY HIS HOLY SPIRIT OF PROMISE.
[For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
