I'm not going to quote the Bible here, I've done that enough in the last few weeks and there is no need for me to continue on that path. Instead I'm going to ask you all a very simple question. How do you defend a God who has tried to kill us before? The Flood, the Tower of Babel, Sodom and Gomorah, the Isrealites being sold into slavery, the Isrealites being conquered time and time again until the Romans. Each time because they weren't following orders. Because they were being denied the inalienable right (some would say) of self-determination.

If you read Revelations it is just one last step on that same road. Nothing else has worked to get mankind in check. So one final attempt is made to bring us into his "love". A genocidal Armegedon that includes wars, floods, famines, pestilance, earthquakes, and comets to name a few. Two individuals rise up above the rest to fight back against the mass slaughter of humanity. The Morning Star, Lucifer, the Devil the being we've been trained to help.

The other is the Anti-Christ. According to Revelations the Anti-Christ will bring peace to the Middle East, unite humanity. A mark will be given to everybody who isn't siding with a genocidal god. It sounds like a neccessary move in a world where possibly billions are against us.

My point is simple if you aren't a Christian and Revelations turned out to be true wouldn't the Anti-Christ be a hero of sorts?

a better question: how can you love a god who will consign well over 99.99% of humanity to eternal torture?

and remember, according to revelations, the anti-christ will turn earth into hell, IIRC.

    Good question.

I am not sure where you get that 99.99% number. Are
you one of the Bible illiterate who think only 100,000
people are going to heaven? And to say God sends us to
hell is like saying my professor GAVE me a failing grade.
Here is a tip for passing God's test for getting into
heaven: accept Jesus as your Lord and saviour. That is
the only way you will ever get there IMHO (and the
Bible's opinion). And yes, the anti-christ will seem like a
hero to the weak minded, uninformed non-Christian.
There was a time that I did not believe the events
outlined in Revelations were possible. I have no doubts
now, considering what I see all around me.

The Flood, the Tower of Babel, Sodom and Gomorah, the Isrealites being sold into slavery, the Isrealites being conquered time and time again ... all these were God's
way of dealing with unrighteousness. Just as he will
deal with our unrighteousness as described in Revelations.
Even the most loving father will eventually take off his
belt and correct a rebellious child.

You're right Alienated. The only way to heaven is through submission to an outside force. I refuse as should any sentient being, to let another demand obedience of me. No I didn't sayy only 100,000 would make it. That isn't even suggested. It says there will be 144,000 converts (they are usually associated with Jews) I suggested that in addition to the true believers (There is no evidnece for this current myth that the rapture will be at the beggining, though it does make for good stories). I said that in a world where non believers are stuck in a battle with a genocidal God and possibly billions of humans on his side that the 144,000 converts could potentionally be very dangerous spies in good position.

The Flood they never define what sins were being done. The Tower of Babel, we were punished for trying to be great, for building to the heavens. Should we have been struck dumb for space travel? The bottom line is that they are and we will be punished because we determined our own fate.

But I do agree with you, if there is a God the Revelation is not only possible but likely.
