Why you might want to think about blogging sooner than later
What is blogging actually for? No two blog writers will give you the same answer. An individual might use blogging as a link to a wider community, or as a means of keeping a personal diary where thoughts and reflections are stored and samples of writing can be displayed.
Businesses and home business sites, on the other hand, might hope to keep in touch with customers, posting information about products and getting feedback. Additionally, the reason for the existence of news and gossip blogs is probably self-explanatory.
It's when you view blogs as part of a community, though, that the possibilities really open up in front of you. You could be part of what is a fairly quiet blogging community centered on interests like recipes or pets, or you could participate in health-related groups that offer advice and information. The new social media have embraced blogs along with discussion forums and photo sites. And then there are those more avant-garde communities that can really get the adrenaline flowing.
So what is the use of blogging? Keeping a blog can give you a place to reflect and record your own thoughts. It can provide the latest juicy tidbits about public figures or it can be a gathering place where you share ideas and plans with others of similar interests. It may look simply like text, graphics and photos on a web page, but blogging transcends all of that.
