My first encounter in life that made me wonder if there was something very much more to our world was after my son died.  Within three months of his death a series of strange experieneces that could not be explained began happening.  Eventually the freakish events brought me to reading books on the subject of the afterlife.  I had never heard of such strange events and I wanted to study anything out there that would help me understand.

I just wasn't raised this way.  No church clergy ever spoke to me about such things.  The paranormal has been a rather 'hush hush' thing all of my life; anyway, I never thought about it until my experiences began in 2003 when Trevor died (my 25 year old son).

On my quest to learn more from others in the bookstores I was both shocked and amazed.
(funny how much more we learn when we seek out information!|).  My childhood beliefs I was trained to believe changed in an instant.

OPEN YOUR EARS AND EYES!

Out of the bookstores I learned I was not alone in having  'visitors' from beyond show themselves.  The first book I read was a study book called, "Hello From Heaven."  In that book some 2000 people shared their paranormal experiences and what stood out in my mind was how similar the stories and experiences were - and yet none of the group study knew each other, let alone know of each other's similar types of visits from beyond the grave.

I'll talk about the many experiences I have had in another blog at another time.

WHAT HAPPENED TODAY?

This mornings event is so significant it causes me to pick up my laptop and document it, which I am doing now.

I have been sleeping sitting up on a sofa all week.  The television has been left on for 'noise' sake (I don't want to lay down flat, and I don't want quiet).

When I woke up about an hour ago I fumbled around for the remote to change the channel.   No remote.  Ah well, it's likely wedged in the sofa or on the floor somewhere.  I got up, made coffee, and began a 15 minute search for my remote which has lately become my biggest need and crutch.  WHERE THE HELL IS IT?  I tore the sofa apart.  I pulled out all of my living room furniture.  I went into rooms searching knowing that the last time the remote was in my little hands but a few hours ago before I fell asleep - while sitting on my sofa!  But, sigh, I looked in the fridge and oven and closets and drawers and everywhere it could possibly be.

I mean, come on!  My condo is only 880 square feet, it is clean and doesn't have a lot of debrie it could get lost within...and it was in my hands when I fell asleep!  IT ALWAYS IS!

So, I reached down and picked up the laptop, listening to a television show I didn't want to watch (In the heat of the night - about capital punishment).  I couldn't change the channel...my PACE box is so confusing I can barely turn the thing on or off.  No, I needed my remote!

And so in my frustration I did some legal business concerning mother's will, got up and poured another coffee, and after some more laptop work sat down, finally putting the laptop on the floor...and decided to just sit and THINK about where my remote could be.

As I put the laptop on the floor the remote fell off of my lap.

I see the activity is starting up again.  The laptop had already been up and down on my lap...I had been up several times (to get coffee, pee, search for the remote, etc.).

And yet here it is....by my feet after falling from my lap.

If anyone is interested in this type of thing I'll be writing more of my paranormal stories soon.  They are interesting, validated, and I am not alone with the bizarre occurrances.

Or am I?  Have you ever had something like this go on that makes you go 'hmmmmm.'

I am a believer and I have had things happen to me.  I think some people have more sensitivity to it than others.

That's really interesting.  I can't think of an instance like that I've had, but a family friend had something like that go on.  He's a retired cop now, but before he was retired he'd keep his service revolver in a certain location in his home.  One day it wasn't here, and he knew he hadn't moved it, and he knew nobody in the house had touched it.  They looked everywhere for it, spent all day looking darned near.  At the end of the night, before he went to bed, there the gun was, right on the stove.  They had cooked dinner, so they knew it wasn't there to start with.  They've since deduced that they must have some sort of poltergeist or something like that in their home, and it's nothing bad, it doesn't do mean or bad things, but it does steal things and hide them.

CW...yes, I believe some people are more sensitive to it, my sensitivity came after a traumatic event...after 3 or 4 years the activity slowed down...but I noticed this year it is weasling it's way back into my life.

Hegemone;  Do you see what I mean about the situations being so similar?  Your story is so close to my event of today.  Other common occurrances are lights and other electrical things going on and off for no reason (much to the confusion of electricians many times...one lamp I still have had so much activity I thought the bulb will blow any day now.  My husband (ex) is an electronics technician manager and he found no wiring or technical issues to cause the activity, so we left it and I got the lamp in the separation settlement.  This lamp light bulb has NOT been changed for 6 years now, and since it is a harmonious low level stream I have rarely turned it off (it sits on my piano).  A light bulb with crazy loud activity for 3-4 years; and then to sit 'lit' peacefully for these many years is but one of my other stories.

FYI I have never had a 'bad' paranormal experience...seen them on t.v. but it has not happened to me so I fear nothing.

Thanks for sharing guys!  I hope others do too!

First, I want to say I am sorry for your loss.

I've had many, many strange things happen.  Too many to list here--this would be a small novel.  The mysterious remote episode is intriguing.  Makes you wonder what that one was all about.  Maybe a bit of tom-foolery, or maybe a way to keep you on schedule?  (don't ask)

But every time I try to tell myself I don't believe in "the paranormal" I remember that I did most definitly experience a so-called "ghost encounter.  How can I ever say that there's no kind of afterlife now?

I wonder if the word "paranormal" should just be shortened to the word "normal."  Maybe someday it will.

I have had paranormal experiences since 8, at least that I can recall.

It began harmless by 'seeing' a "troll", a big fellow (approx 6') with big potato like nose. He accompanied some long, thin light brown hair.
He had a brown vest which looked like a old blanket with some green places that where repaired.

He had some brown pants which went down to his ankles, not all the way down.
    They where slightly to big.

I never thought of it like extraordinary until I told my family several years later, then my father told me according to legend his part of the family has been white magicians.

So my interest in the paranormal began.

I then began to learn, try and experiment with various things among other; Psychokinesis, Empathy, Telepathy, ESP and so on.

However nothing really impressive has ever happened to me.
At least according to myself, then someone else might find it amazing.
It sort of bores me to 90% these days, meaning most stuff is boring to me.

Schamanism still has me interested though, am planning to try it some day.

Sounds rather interesting. However I can relate to you a lot. As I and my husband have been having some very strange events happening to us as well. We moved recently into a duplex and things began right away. Our DVR turns on by itself, kitty toys have come up missing, my husband has seen shadow people, and other figures, and we both have seen grey orbs floating around our place. Our cat sits and stares at something in the kitchen. And recently our security camera which has a microphone on it keeps picking up voices on it and we have heard things on our Digital Voice Recorder (DVR) that we cannot explain. And I have seen things since I was a kid. As far as dabbling into things I would not go there as far as magic and other things, be it white or black, please stay clear of that. As far as your experience with a troll like figure, Ryan of paranormal state has had the same experience as well. There are a lot things we cannot explain in the realm that we live in. If your believe in Heaven, than know this, that world and this world overlap a great deal. As far as your experience I have had something similar happen to me also. Traumatic experiences in our lives can also cause paranormal activities to occur, not saying that we all are causing it, it is just the nature of many situations and events. Good Luck with what you are experiencing and pray like you have never prayed before, this can help a lot.
