The long road to self discovery, lead right back to SoulCast so here I am. For those who don’t know me or might have forgotten, my name is Mousenphonic or Mouse for short. I live in South Africa with my hubby Spouse and baby B-rat (Who just hit her terrible two’s four months early) I’m pregnant for the second time now (28 weeks in counting), no longer live in a four room (Bedroom, Bathroom, Livingroom and Kitchen) flat but have a beautiful three bedroom fixer up now. I’m a not an administrative assistant anymore but a full time Domestic Organizer (iow a House wife).
I’ve been having a really rough time lately, as in the last 10 months has been just short of being Hades, so I’m turning to blogging again for somewhere to rant and ramble and get some things of my mind and heart.
For my old friends I’ll kick off with a quick synoptic ramble on whats been happening with me the last few months:
January: We decide to move from our flat to a bigger place so that B-rat could have more room to grow. What began as a dream come true turns into a horror as pieces of the house come apart while we try to renovate it. It’s still a work in progress but it’s looking much better than what we started with.
February: Granny falls terribly ill with a spider bite. Doctors realize this almost too late and she nearly loses her leg. I spend nearly a week trying to get her admitted to a public hospital. She’s still recovering and lives with us now.
March: The Dalai Lama gets denied access to attend a peace conference in South Africa.
April: Spouse’s father’s cancer is declared terminal, this marks the beginning of a very dark time that lies ahead. B-rat gives her first steps and doesn’t stop running.
May: Hardy and Laurel (Who eventually amidst a lot of controversy, prostitute scandals and jealousy did get married) welcomes there first born to the world. The same day Spouse’s uncle dies of a heart attack and complications due to his cerebral polsi. He was 69.
June: I find out I’m pregnant and shortly after land my ass in hospital with dehydration due to hyper emesis gravidarum (extreme morning sickness). The company I worked for for the last 3 years goes bankrupt and because of my “condition” I’m unable to get another job.
July: Spouse’s dad’s condition worsens in a matter of three weeks to the point where he is unable to eat, speak or move at all. After two days in a chemically induced coma he dies 31 July as the sun sets. He was 59.
August: August 1 it snows for the first time in 50 years in parts of Rustenburg. Spouse thought of it as a type of sign from his father. I agreed. I can see Spouse slowly returning to himself again, the man I fell in love with 7 years ago and only then realize the toll his father’s illness took on him the last four years.
September: South African athlete Caster Semenya earns gold at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin, but a shadow of doubt is thrown over her sexuality. It is later revealed that she is actually a hermaphrodite.
October: Mouse returns to Soulcast after an absence of Santa knows how many months.
Well, that should do for an update from my side for now.
Anything new I should be aware of?
<*ms
