I am in the middle of transcribing the proceedings of one of the faculty meetings here at work. And I can't help but feel tired about what I'm doing. That's why I'm taking a break by writing this blog. However, shallow the message is or incoherent my thoughts are.

It's not easy to encode verbatim the words other people say, but I've got no choice but to do it - lest I'd earn the wrath of one of my bosses. Yes, I don't have only one boss. Technically, I have two. But, practice-wise, all of the faculty members are my bosses. Fortunately, not all of them need my attention at the same time. But you could just imagine the myriad of adjustment styles I have to employ just to have good working relations with them.

The academe, indeed, is not unlike other organizations. There's hierarchy and there are those who enjoy power-tripping. So far, I've dealt with the good ones. And I know I'll meet the "terrorists" in future activities. Just hoping that I'll do okay and be shielded from their "adult tantrums".

I am tempted to google stuff about migration. It's on my agenda. I love my country, but my survival coupled with my child's future comes first. I know that much of the future is unknown. But everything that is here today used to be uncertainties, a dream for those who dared to make their wishful thinking real. Yet, I know I cannot rush things. All things happen for a reason, though most of the time we miss to stop and ponder on the whys. So, for the meantime, I deal with the drudginess of doing something that I don't like. And my taking a break somehow enables me to continue enduring what I need to. I could only sigh.

At least I have a job. And a purpose to simply live.
