A "No" uttered from the deepest conviction is better than a "Yes" merely uttered to please or worse, to avoid trouble. ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Yes and No are very short words to say, but we should think for some length of time before saying them. ~ unknown

Every choice moves us closer to or futher away from something. Where are your choices taking your life? What do your behaviors demonstrate that you are saying Yes or No to in life. ~ Eric Allenbaugh

Hmmm....that 1st quote speaks VOLUMES to me!

Hello,  you two! and sometimes a no means yes or the other way around. if someone asked you if you need help and you do, say yes i need help.

i have a friend who needed help, i asked and she said no! i asked are you ok? she replied yes, again i knew she wasn't so...huh heck, i knew she was just being kind. i wished to help and didn't take the answer no! *smile*

i myself do that so often, trying to say what others want to hear or avoid problems. or just don't want to trouble anyone.

Uniquely ~ say what you mean and mean what you say thingie going on in my life. and as strange as it maybe... a simple yes or no can weigh in on how i feel about things and myself. cool!

Fraggle ~ it yelled at me too! lol.... the last one hit home! yup, the power of such little words. :~)

Have a great weekend. take care ~see ya

Awesome post and so true.  Don't usually give much thought to such simple words, and that can be a huge mistake sometimes.

    Very interesting trend....

    MeMyI

I will tell you how I handle these situations.

If I do not want to do something, I will not offer "No" instead:
I will offer a middle ground.
    I will offer an alternative.
I will part ways with the person or people.
I will say "perhaps another time."
I often find when asked yes or no question if my answer is not yes,
    it falls under "not yet."

As for yes, that word tends to be used when I truly mean it,
that is really the only time I say it. If the terms of what were
talking about changes; then my answer would have
    to be re-evaluated.

All things I choose are only chosen at the time, and can change
    often as I myself, change.

Mr.Strange ~ Voltaire wrote a quote about talking less and saying more or something like that. anyways, sometimes a yes or no is the only safe answer. so, a trend is in the makings huh ya think *smile*

Hegemone ~ what if it's the only way to answer to questions or events in our lives? one way or the other. no what ifs or maybes or not yets as Mr.Strange said. i bet it would save allot of time and energy, i quess. ;~)

MsBradford ~ i was put into a sitution that i did not want to be in. and all i had to say was no. but oh no not me, always aiming to please. i said yes and then bitched about it the whole time. heck, i know now,  just say no....so simple.

Thanks you all. have a great weekend. take care ~see ya

Sometimes sitting back and listening is effective, I will say it is not needed in situations where you will not be granted a chance to do input.

To simply listen to some one rant, and not have a chance to speak is a tactic of brainwashing.   Fortunately my mind is water proof these days, so I suppose I could listen to anything, for any amount of time.

    Onto a interesting topic...

got a new idea for a blog.

I love listening to others, they always give such great ideas.

I wish that life was YES,OR NO. BLACK OR WHITE! It is not!
  • Me-Myself&I said on Oct 15, 2009....
Mixnuts ~ well, i am glad most things can be answered with a simple yes or no. but for the black and white thingie.... i am glad there are gray areas to things in life. nothing should be just black or white. too many ways to look at things, too many different kind of folks so.... gray is good. ;~)
