OMG! I love food!

Then, I want to say, I love you guys! lol

Yup! the company had it's big ol' dinner at a fancy schmancy restaurant tonight.  I showed up all clean and dressed up like a good little serf and sat at the foot of the table.  I may not be the brightest bulb, but sitting at the end of the table is always the best spot to catch the mood of the table.  So, smelling good and keeping quiet I started my bestest ever evening in the past few months.

Sooooooo I am a self proclaimed expert in one area.  I know wine.  I didn't make overt suggestions, but I did nod enthusiastically when the designated wine orderer was making selections for the group.  Yummy!  We had 2 bottles of Stag's Leap Pinot.  I had 2 glasses myself.  I also had one glass of a great Sangiovese, no clue who made it.  There was also a bottle of Heitz Cellars going around that wasn't bad.

I had a lovely meal, splitting a salad with one of the managers who looks like she never eats.  Hate that!  As the meal went on the conversation took some weird turns off the politically correct path.  That's pretty amazing considering it was the HR department.  By the end of the meal we were eating off each other's plates and telling out "hang over" stories.  I think we may have been yelling at each other, hard to say when you're drunk deaf :)

Yup! I got a buzz on and I totally couldn't be happier! :)

Glad to hear you had a good time. So who had the best hang over story?  :)

Glad you had fun Uni - you are going to have to teach me about wine.  If it ain't pink, or a pinot grigio, I am probably unfamiliar!

super - you have to ask? though I did not tell that hang over story in the interest of keeping my job.  I was drunk, not stupid ;)

wishy - pink? okay, first lesson, though pink wine is fun, it aint really wine! lol

Do they even have pink wine anymore?  I loved rose when I was a wine drinker 30 years ago.  Oh...that says rose, not rosay, huh?
    Anyhow, I loved rosay.

Twirlie - I like blush wines too, but when I get serious about my wines it's almost always a red.

Sounds like a good time all in all, lol.  Seems that you're feeling all right today too, so woo hoo!  I'm hoping to maybe experience a little bit of a buzz later on ... I don't feel like waiting for the weekend and today is just ... well ... today is just not pleasing me.

Hege - nothing wrong with a few drinks to take the edge off the week :)

Sounds like a great time! :-D I'm not a huge wine fan but I'd be all in for a night like that! It rocks when you don't even have to pay for your fun later.

TIO - it was a very fun evening and not paying for the meal or with a hangover made it a win all the way around! :)

lol my co-workers and i like to refer to such moments as "mullets" while it may appear to be all business in the front, there is a wild party happening in the back!!

so you work in HR? I'm applying for my master's in I/O Psychology--do you know anyone with that degree? just curious if you'd heard any feedback on it...
  • uniquely-ironic said on Oct 06, 2009....
twenty - I honestly couldn't tell you if the top two HR officers have that degree or not.  Is that common for an HR position of that level?
  • twentysomeone said on Oct 06, 2009....
well i've heard that's a usual placement for people with the degree, among other places--i don't know if common is the right word, but it seems to be a growing trend...anywho just curious!

I'm thankful for all my SC friends. :-) So to pay tribute I will make the turkery, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy. You can bring a side dish or dessert.

All are welcome.

What will you bring?
