bloc is on the torture bandwagon again ...

====== NOW WE HAVE PROOF ======

Torturing is wrong and torturing someone to get them to say what you want them to say, or to confess to something, is clearly wrong. So what? Anyone that does something like that should be in big trouble. Is bloc expecting some sort of argument about that?

My question might be, how many cases like this have been uncovered? And, is there a possibility that the detainee was lying about all this?

And, of course, all this concern simply looks like political sour grapes considering the total denial of leftist liberals when it comes to our current president and his efforts to undermine our country. Lefties whine about our enemies POSSIBLY being "tortured" for no good reason and, at the same time, turn a blind eye to Obama's past history and his past associations with domestic terrorists (like William Ayers) and racist bigots (like Reverend Wright). It is like a drunk man leading an AA meeting.

If lefties cared a little more about the rights of American citizens and a little less about our terrorist enemies, someone might listen to them. Fighting terrorism and terrorists is an ugly business and mistakes are bound to be made, individuals are bound to do things that are wrong. That even happens in conventional wars -- people make mistakes and do bad things.

Do you hold FDR responsible for every mistake made in WWII or LBJ responsible for every mistake made in Vietnam? Considering the way lefties are overlooking what Mr. Obama does (like running down the U.S. on every possible occasion and trying to wreck our economy), we can only conclude that, if these mistakes had been made under a Democrat president, they would be blaming the individuals that did it, not the president or the vice president.

I think bloc truly cares about the U.S. torturing people. So do I. It is wrong. However, most lefties are just starting to head off any mention of Chaney as a Republican candidate for president (God forbid). With Palin, they had to wait for her name to be submitted before the character assassination and ridicule started. I have heard hints of Chaney being considered for 2012 and I am sure lefties have heard that also. So they are simply getting the ball rolling now instead of waiting for him to announce as a candidate.

Offering up Cheney would be a bigger mistake than offering up Palin. If that happens, I will join the lefties in rejecting him and I think most real conservatives, libertarians, and independents would join me.

So you leftie liberals have your "torture" trials and circle jerk. The rest of us will move on. Leaders who are messing up should be dealt with while they are messing up. Obama is our problem now, not Bush or Chaney. If you really care about the U.S. and liberty, you had better get with the current program, the current evil that lurks among us. You only think Bush was out to steal your freedom when in fact he was only out to defeat terrorists. On the other hand, Obama IS out to steal your freedom while you are facing backwards, worring about the past, which cannot be corrected. Wake up or you will be facing a past in which Obama has actually stolen your freedom while you were preoccupied with things that no longer matter.

The trials are important.  They have to happen, not just so we can if not reclaim (I don't believe America ever lost the moral high ground, particularly not in comparison to our enemies.  Perhaps when compared to our allies but most of them are so far removed from the problem that they can afford to have morality that we cannot.) secure our claim to it.  We have to show that when we screw up that we do take care of it.  Too long the impression has been that we sweep it under the rug.  I will forever believe that one of Bush's biggest mistakes was having faith in the American people. Just like everybody who comes through my office to be fingerprinted "knows" that this is Big Brother gettting everybody on the grid so they can be tracked down everyone knew before Bush took office that the military tortures people.  Bush basically came out and said yeah we do.  It's true we call the location Gitmo.  Just like everybody believes that the government is spying on them and has files on everybody.  (For me it's possibly true.  The son and nephew of Black Panthers and I entered the military where lots of people get training ot become militant assholes.  Still if they did their homework they know I love my country and I'm not a threat but still)  Everybody knows that the government spies.  Bush brought it into the open with the Patriot Act.  It was a stunning act of trusting the maturity of the nation.

The people who are responsible for these things must be brought to justice or justified.  I think if you can prove that the inteligence you gathered saved even a single American life you should instantly be pardoned.

Obama isn't the anti-christ.  But I don't want to put much on that here since you have other blogs more dedicated to that subject.

Bush said "we torture"? I thought he said "we do not torture". Maybe he said "we waterboard". I have slept since then. I frankly think no one really cares. The subject of torture was used by the left to cast doubt on Bush and now it is being used to deflect attention from Obama's impotence and efforts to lead us into Socialism. America has taken a bad turn down "my party right or wrong" lane. The Democrat / Socialist party is one big house of cards. They are afraid if they give in on any issue, they will lose the right to abort babies and have homo relatinships. The need to do immoral acts has clouded the left's ability to see beyond the end of their weenies.

Bush at the least admitted to having Gitmo Bay.  Does anybody believe that it was a new facility though?  Really?  Do you think that Clinton didn't have that same spot and wasn't using it for the same purposes.

    Also Obama. . .not socialist.

  • ALIENated said on Oct 06, 2009....

Just because he is not succeeding (yet) does not mean he is not a Socialist. Look at his history, the people that raised him and mentored him. That is like saying he has no Muslim leanings. Everything he has done so far makes that harder and harder to believe. Everywhere he has gone, he has put down America. Who was it that said "if you are not for us, you are against us"? He may be our president by law, but he is not acting like it by his actions. He is still campaigning for something. Who knows what. I guess you keep doing what you are best at. He said actons speak louder than words, and he could not be more right. His actions say bigger government and more control over the lives of Americans. His words really do not matter. Someone else wrote them and put them on a teleprompter.

  • SeanRenaud said on Oct 06, 2009....

Everybody who is black and of his age was raised by socialist.  Near enough anyway so looking at his history means pretty much nothing.  Admiting we are not faultless is not putting America down.  It simply isn't.  The whole "If you're not for us, you're against us" is EXACTLY the kind of attitude that turns other nations against us.

Just like hes not a Muslim.  Muslim leanings and Christian leanings are so similar that you could make a case anyway.  I've never once heard anything about him being against religious freedom or putting down women.  And he's clearly not a radical terrorist.

  • ALIENated said on Oct 07, 2009....

Obama was raised and mentored by real Communists, not just people on welfare (or whatever you are alluding to). I do not think he thinks like most Christian black people. At least I hope they do not think like him. As far as being Muslim, that religion is more "my way or the highway" than Christianity is today. Christians believe that they have the true meaning of God (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, etc.), but they are not going to blow themselves up and take you with them to prove it to you. Saudi Arabia is a perfect example of a Muslim state. They tollerate no other religion. Obama is hard to pin down because he is trying to be everything to everyone in order to promote his agenda -- leading America into Socialism. Your failure to see the true Obama and to apologize for his every shortcoming only shows your "my guy, right or wrong" mindset. There is something called a pattern. I am looking at Obama's pattern, his record so far. You are listening to his empty promises and giving him the benefit of the doubt even though he has proven that he does not deserve that benefit. He is an empty vessel reading empty promises displayed on a teleprompter. Bush may have garbled his words, but we always knew what he was trying to say ... God is good, America is great, I am proud of America, God bless America. Obama clearly states that God is whatever gets votes (Christian or Muslim, who cares), America is a horrible country that his wife has never been proud of, God damn America (or so his pastor says). Wake up and smell the deception. This is not a matter of right and left. It is now a matter of right and WRONG. Obama's philosophy is wrong. Obama is not Hitler, but, like Hitler, he is using his popularity and our desperation to promote his wrong philosophy.

  • SeanRenaud said on Oct 07, 2009....

No no, most blacks from that era were raised by real communists.  Most like Obama have since grown out of it but what did you really expect from people who were so held back that they literlaly couldn't attend the same schools or use the same facilities?  I know you're white and as a result the civil rights era happened AROUND you rather than TO you.

I see the true Obama, you're the one with this My guy attitude.  You still defend Bush pretty much across the board.  By contrast I am and was always very specific with my criticism of Bush.

Obama says God is good.  Wish he didn't.  I wish he was a grown up and would be fairy tale things away.  He says America is Great and can be Greater.  Granted Michelle said stupid things and there is no defending her saying stupid things.  But shit happens.

Most of Obama's philosophy is right.  Though he has some glaring fuck ups, which I might add I've been pointing out as they happen.  While you and the right ignore is actual fuck ups and keep circling the wagons around he's blackish, he's a socialist, he hates America.  You're going to lose again if you stick with that meme

... He says America is Great

The man made a world tour telling just about every enemy nation we have how fucked up America is. Why would the olympic committee want to give the olympics to a shit hole like America (according to Obama)? He wants it both ways. He travels abroad and tells the world that America is a crap hole and has been until he took over. Then he comes back here and says "just kidding, guys". Among other things, the president has to be our cheerleader in chief. Sorry, but most of Obama's philosophy is wrong. Be deceived if you like. His degree of blackness in not my problem. I just think it is funny that people think they elected a black man. Maybe I should run as an American Indian. I have about the same amount of indian blood. And I call him a Socialist for lack of a better word. As I have said, one definition of Socialism is ...

(in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.

You not being able to see his intentions (to reshape America as his mentors and friends would reshape America) do not mean they are not there. It simply means you cannot, or will not, see them.

  • SeanRenaud said on Oct 07, 2009....

Go ahead and run as an American Indian.  If you think that you could be mistaken for one.  Just answer the question.  If I was in the Wild West would they see me and think I was an Indian or a white guy.  If you're passing fo rwhite you're white.  You keep pretending like Obama would have been seen as mostly white in 50's.  Would they have let him into the white school?

    How, chief...
  • ALIENated said on Oct 13, 2009....

OK, one more time. I am not saying that Obama does not have black features, but he is clearly a mixed race man. He looks as much like a full blood black man as I do a full blood indian, but that is not my point. My point is that people laud him as the first black president when he is in fact more white than anything else no matter how he looks. Black people voted for him thinking of him as a black man when, in fact, his is more white than black. Obama is just another white president with at touch of black blood (his mother was white and his father was a small part black and a large part Arabic). He is only barely more black than was Clinton, who also claimed to be the first black president. My point is that people jumped ship (like Colon Powell) to vote for a black man for no good reason. Obama is about as close as Clinton with some make up. I did not vote for McCain because he is white. I voted for him because his philosophy is closer to mine (even though not that close) than is Obama's. Also, it is assinine for people (like Jimmy Farter) to claim those who oppose Obama are racist. Obama is NOT a black man. How can people be racist in the way Farter is implying? If that is the case, everyone that opposes me here are racist against American Indians. Or is racism based on how much someone LOOKS like that race. It is hard to keep all these stupid rules straight. I will assure you, the race card is played by liberals much more often than by conservatives.

  • SeanRenaud said on Oct 13, 2009....
And my point is that race wise you are what you look.  You could be 50% black and pass for white and you'd be white for all intents and purposes.  Cops wouldn't pull you over, gangs wouldn't jump you and whites at the voting booth wouldn't feel white guilt.  By contrast you could be 90% white and look like OBama (or Tiger Woods) and have all the same problems.  And you kind of sweep all that under the rug as if race should be something we mathematically factor.
  • ALIENated said on Oct 13, 2009....

This is like talking to bloc about torture. I suppose you are going to see what you want to see. You are definitely missing my point. We do not have the first black president. At best, we have the first mixed race president who is mostly white and more Arabic than black. And I guarantee you that more people voted for him because they prerceive him to be black than people who voted against him for the same reason. How can people like Colon Powell be Republicans all those years and then vote for Obama? It has to be a matter of him supposedly being black. Oprah same deal. It makes me wonder who the real racists are.
