I am wondering who really thinks we will invade Iran. Bush is upsetting me and I voted for him, but I am wondering do you really think he will be bold (and stupid enough) to invade another country when he seemingly has no plan to take care and resolve the first invasion????

This is why we shouldn't have invaded Iraq. Iran is a real threat, iraq wasn't. Now we are in a position where we can't really fight another war or we'll go broke, need a draft, etc etc etc. Iraq will go down in history as one of America's worst strategic mistakes.

I'm also curious what your view is on the war in Iraq.

I am frustrated that we entered a country that we thought had mass weapons of destruction and once we found out they didn't continued to stay and fight this "war on terror". My problem is I think the war on terror had nothing to do with Iraq initially and Hussein was a bonus. I am glad Hussein was caught. Him and his son are seriousy sick and mean people, and I believe the world in general is better without him in power. As I have said before Iraq really scares me. I don't think suicide bombers in general are rational people and how can people who have no regard for innocent lives, who believe it is okay to kill people for their beliefs, how can these people ever have a civilized democratic society. Your posts are so helpful to me and I am realizing with my husband deploying soon that I need to really educate myself of what is really going on. I hear from soldiers here on base who have deployed once and are heading back again for the second and third time and I dont think the gung hoe moral people are trying to portray the troops as having is accurate. These soldiers are tired and see no end to this unplanned, poorly executed war.

I'm a veteran so I know what it's like. My company was deployed to Bosnia multiple times. Let's just say that morale wasn't high after the second deployment and that wasn't anything like Iraq. I can't imagine most of the soldiers being happy about the situation. I think this is why a lot of generals have been coming out and demanding that Rumsfeld be replaced. Fortunately your husband is only over there for a short time. One of my family members was over there for a year.

Bloc-my husband is due for a 14 month deployment in a few months. He is to arrive in Iraq on my sons first birthday:( I have to say that reading your posts in so comforting. Hearing from someone who has ACTUALLY been in the military, and has a rational way of explaining his beliefs is so refreshing. You are a godsend to me in my preparation for the hardest thing in my life. Being without my husband...and knowing he is fighting a war I am losing faith we can win
