Stargate ~ Just an awesome show.
Smallville ~ Has a few quirks that take it against the movies, but overall stands out great on its own.
As for old school?
Either Transformers (yes the cartoon) or NOVA, brain absorption! lol

I love "The Big Bang Theory" and "How I Met Your Mother". The Big Bang Theory I like because I like the geek humor! and I like "How I Met Your Mother" because I want to date Ted and think that Robin is awesome :)

Medium is an excellent show. I watch it on DVD though. I think that's the best of the best that's currently on TV.
To what I regularly watch on TV, The Golden Girls, just a nice escape and always have a good laugh.

My super favorites now are True Blood, Glee and Flashforward.
This is a brand new show with that heavenly piece of flesh called Joseph Fiennes (he was Shakespeare in the movie with Paltrow)....he is the brother of that other candy yummi Ralph Fiennes.
Still like:
Grey's anatomy.
House
Weeds
Any rerun of Will and Grace would do it.
Friends never bores me, as well as Seinfield...
But if they would rerun Six feet under ...i would be in tv-heaven....;-)

I've got a few TV shows I like right now:- One Tree Hill - Offers me the girly/chick based type of TV that some part of me apparently enjoys, and it also gives me a world that sometimes I might not mind escaping into. Also, that little Jamie is adorable.
- CSI Series - They're all just so darn interesting, all the science, all the action and even the drama!
- NCIS Series - See above, but these seem more hands on almost for some reason.
- Numb3rs - See above, but with more of a scientific center.
- Criminal Minds - Almost like a good mixture of the three previous shows.
- The Simpson's - For the all time stand by stupid, but also witty, comedy.

Oh man so many! Topping the list is the one season wonder Firefly if you have not seen you should! It only lasted one season because Fox Screwed the pooch with it. Um right now I love Dexter and True Blood, Medium and my little guilty pleasures with Hell's Kitchen and Desperate Housewives. -

I have yet to see many of these shows yet. Some yes. Most no. On cable TV you can see both newer and older shows. Just like music it seems to me that the pre digital generation stuff was much better. -
