Don't tell me your age; you'd probably lie anyway - but the Hershey Man will know!

YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH

T his is pretty neat.

DON'T CHEAT BY  SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!  It takes less than a minute... Work this out as you read.  Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!  This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun!

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate (more than once but less than 10)

2.  Multiply this number by 2 (Just to be bold)

3. Add 5

4.  Multiply it by 50--I'll wait while you get the calculator

5.   If you have already had your birthday this year, add 1759...if you haven't, add 1758.

6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number

The first digit of this was your original number

(i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).

The next two numbers are

YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2009) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS.

Chocolate Calculator.

I love math! I'd like to sit down and figure out how that thing works but instead I think I'll just go eat some chocolate ;)
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 29, 2009....
frags - you like math? *gulp* you're weird! here, eat some chocolate. :)
  • fragglesrock said on Sep 29, 2009....
I do. How can you not find it interesting?  I admit I'm not great at it and the hard stuff makes my brain hurt but I have a knack with numbers. I've thought about going back to school for accounting.   But then there's always biology... So instead of making a decision and actually doing something I'll just sit here and do nothing...lol

frags - I think the word math hurts my brain! lol  I'm glad someone likes it though, now I know who to come for with math problems. :)  BTW, I'm a genius at chocolate.
  • gingersoul said on Sep 29, 2009....
Math and chocolate are not made to be said in the same sentence....its like daring the inner balance of the whole universe to not collapse..

That's why i keep them religiously separated.....why should i apply math to chocolate? To count the calories of that divine food?

    Thank you no...i prefer deleting that m....word completely..........lol.. .

Btw, the counting gave me my age.....just the biological one though......and that one doesn't count, we all know that....lol..

    Now......pass me some chocolate, thanks....;-).
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 29, 2009....
ginger - I'm with you on the keeping them seperate things.  World chaos would erupt if they were combined [passing dark chocolate]
  • Lucytorial said on Sep 29, 2009....

  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 29, 2009....
Lu - did you see there's a provision for if you haven't turned a year older yet?
  • cuppajava said on Sep 29, 2009....
I think I would like to sit down and work out how this was done too - but first - HAND OVER THE CHOCOLATE AND NO ONE GETS HURT,capeesh?
  • Lucytorial said on Sep 29, 2009....

Whoa, that was kind of neat, lol, and it involved chocolate.  Now why couldn't the teachers have figured that out in school?  Chocolate + Math = Interest In Math.  Lol.  SEE!  Look, now I'm being all 'mathy', THAT was an equation!  Gah, look what you've started.  :-p
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 29, 2009....

    queenie - it sure is!

hege - I know! I wish they had used chocolate back when with me.

  • cuppajava said on Sep 29, 2009....
Uni,thats not fair.....I need some motivation first before the brain decides it wants to get involved in this...........just a little piece, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez?
  • cuppajava said on Sep 29, 2009....
...Ginger - maybe I have just been watching too many mafia movies.....you wanna send WHO for me......? Mario ? ...........is that not Lucy in disguise?....or is it someone else standing behind me with a baseball bat thinking that Uni has already given me the chocolate? I have tried to tell them that Uni doesnt wanna give it to me,but they wont listen...................
  • AlleyCatMomma said on Sep 29, 2009....

Hey it worked !  The first time it didn't but that was because I messed up.  Never was good at math.    But the chocolate helped my concentration! LOL

Math, humor, and chocolate in the same sentence.  Hmmm.  Didn't think it was possible.

Things like this make my brain hurt -- how does this work?  Where's Einstein when you need him?  What the heck does 2009 have to do with the price of fish?
  • abbonzai said on Sep 30, 2009....
I like a math, but it hard for calculate!!!
  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 30, 2009....
    ACM - you're welcome!

RC - lol, chocolate always improves my concentration too

MMM - now don't go passing along the mental pain to me!  I merely passed it on, I have no idea how it works.

    abbonzai - I used a calculator.
  • the.food.critic said on Sep 30, 2009....

It's true! It works! I didn't get a calculator though, just used my oversized head. And combining choclate and numbers, my 2 passions; I'm proud of whomever made this.

  • uniquely-ironic said on Sep 30, 2009....
TFC - "oversized head"! lol  I'm afraid that numbers dont stick in my head, but like you I'm impressed by whoever figured this out.

Today is T day at work....
I am drowning my sorrows in a bowl full of kid's cereal - Cookie Crisp, dinner of champions. I could have easily made a case for eating cookies for dinner, but at least this way I can pretend to have eaten real food.

What I'd like to know is...
in the flesh...
Happy Thanksgiving....
i was working with the other tech yesterday....
