Sometimes things happen when you're least expecting it.

So tonight I went to my friend's house for the bonfire party she was having. I'll admit that I was a little skeptical in going at first. Mainly because I'm shy and it's hard for meet to meet new people sometimes so it can get akward real fast. And I didn't know who was all going to be there and some of my friends couldn't make it. But I went anyways and decided to make the most out of my night. When I arrived her and some other kids were hanging around in her driveway. We said hello and I met a few people. Then I soon left to go pick up another friend since she didn't have a ride over there. When I got back I met some more people and I was actually starting to enjoy myself. Of course I saw E over by the fire. So I decided to hang back with this other crew. Plus, I didn't know half the people sitting over there anyways.

 

My friend complimented me on my hoodie. Then later on this guy V that I met there said he liked it too. And he said something and was then like "Oh, well then. You're my new best friend." and stuff. Which then I started to realize that he was totally diggin' on me. Then this other guy Q that I was talking to mouthed something to him that looked like he was trying to say something about me. One of the things was I think about how they thought I was Spanish (which I get a lot but I'm really Italian) and then they asked everyone if they knew how to speak Spanish. And my friend and I just looked at each other and laughed. Then they asked me if I was excited for homecoming and asked if I had a date, which I said I didn't I was just going with friends and then they both gave me a high-five. Then this other girl that was talking to Q and I were talking about our heights and how I was pretty short for a senior and he was pretty tall for a sophmore. Then the girl said how she hated being short and he said that I was "cute" short and she wasn't. When V finally had to leave he gave me a hug and started to run off then came back and asked for my number. Q stayed behind and me, that girl, and my friend started talking. My friend and I then started texting back and forth about how she thought Q was totally diggin' on me and he apparently even said so to her.

 

Eventually the crowd died down and E and a few others came over to join our group. He said "Hey" in this hoarse fake-I really want to talk to you-tone and I could feel myself starting to cave in. When we all decided to go back and sit by the fire, it was just me and him walking side by side and he said "So how's life been for you? I haven't talked to you in what seems like forever." Pshtt...yeah. Maybe it's because I try to avoid you at all costs to avoid akwardness. So I replied back "Pretty good. I don't see many people anymore. I have classes over at the Nelson complex this year." And he was perked up and was like "Oh, when?" and I said in the afternoon and he said that he had it in the morning so we were kind of at opposite ends of the universe. Then it got super akward and silent while everyone else around us was conversing. As we were going to sit down I couldn't take it any longer so I blurted out the first thing I could think of which was "So, do you still do wrestling?" which he said yes and went on about football and wrestling being too much and he was ready for it all to be over with. Then we sat down far across from each other to join the group. A few minutes later Q said he was getting tired and was going to leave. He said his goodbyes to all who already knew him and then patted me on the arm and left. I'm not gonna lie...he was hella fine.

 

It was an interesting, but fun night I must say.

I wonder what tomorrow will have in store for me.
