i do not know how to start this post because i am still at shock. everything happened so fast that i dont know what to think.

the rain started a 8 am today. it wasnt that bad, we opened the hardware store at 7 :30 am so we already set up the stuff were selling.

a little later, my 17 year old sister with her classmate is at the hardware store. it was already raining so hard so they drink some coffee and chilled out at the store because their class hasnt started yet...

the rain became harder at around 10 am. and at that point the water already reached inside the hardware store. we are now putting all our stuff on the top shelves in order not to get wet. we are calling our parents to get us and go home.

at 11:30 am the water reached waist level. at those moments we decided to just closed the store and leave. the truck could not get us because of the flood.

even if it was raining so hard we have no choice but to cross the flood. i am thankful for the men who was there to help us cross. because there was a moment where the current almost swept us.

me, my sister, her friend and our worker is now crossing the flood. after 20 blocks we reached my mom's friend's cafeteria. the water didnt reached their place because their place was on higher ground. we ate lunch their because we were so hungry.

after that my cousin came and once again we walk (more like swim) through the flood and walk a few kilometers until we reached home.

as i am typing this it is almost 2 pm. we are safe at home and i already showered.

if you asked what i feel i feel numb. i'm in shocked right now. everything happened so fast. i keep thinking if we didnt leave the hardware store i dont know what might happen to us.

and now the stuff we sell at hardware store are all wet and we have lost so much money. my new stereo might be broken. i know it's just material stuff but it's our livelihood.

our other hardware store is okay. as i'm watching the news today a lot of people have gone missing. some people are now on their rooftops because the flood has reached them.

this is probably the worst storm that ever hit metro manila.

i will update you guys with more developments. i need your prayers guys...

You and the rest of your family are in our prayers, queenie.

I was shocked to see so many updates in FB from friends about the flash flood in Metro Manila.  And yes, some wrote that PAGASA announced this is the worst rainfall that hit the city in Philippine History.

Again, I am sorry for the hardware store; I am so relieved though that you and your family reached home safe!

Queenie, I'm glad to hear that you and yours are OK though.  That must certainly have been a shock, and yes, even more difficult to know what was lost in the hardware store.  Things will be OK, they have a way of working out, so just keep your chin up and know we're all here, rooting for you and supporting you if you need us.  ((((((((HUGS)))))))

If your house and and other business locations are dry, then you are truly blessed.  There will be many friends, neighbors, and family who will need your help and assistance in the coming days.  You are in our prayers.
My girlfriend and I were stranded in Manila for a week during Typhoon"Didang"  in 1972.   Eventually we managed to catch a ride on a Navy helicopter  back to Subic.   Another couple I spoke w/was less fortunate:  They took a series of banca boats, caribou carts, jeepneys and tricycles accross Pampanga and Bulucan.  It took three days. . .
