At last I learned how to upload pics on flickr. I think it's a mental block that I got and how to get around it is the real issue.
Here are some of the first pictures that I uploaded and since they have a limit and I took over 400+ pics then it's going to take a lil' bit of time to get them all up.
Unfortunately they're not in order yet and I'm pissed at Flickr that they didn't upload in the order that I wanted but...hey....who's complaining?, at least some of the pics are up!
That's " La Paraguayita Restaurant " one of the places that I used to habit when I lived in Asuncion. I'm glad that it's still up and running.
The sampler dish is a mouthfull let me tell you !
You can dine outside or inside.
We opted for dining inside. That's my younger brother sitting across from me.
The BBQ Kitchen of the restaurant.
and they even have a fuel efficient delivery service.
The difference in culture was a pleasant fragance for me as I used to live there and actually forgotten many things. It's been awhile (since 1985) that I've lived there although I was back for a short visit in 2001.
I got lots to write about and I'll be putting up more blogs with pics later on.
I'll be adding on a bit more to this later.

The kitchen at the house.

These were painted by my talented nephew (14yrs) and a total surprise to me. Almost every painting on the walls of the house were done by him.

This is Opoi (don't really know how to spell it properly) it's the Guarani name for that type of arts and crafts. It's hand made and comes in all types of colors.

Ye old chopping block at my brother's kichen. Used as a small handy table most of the time.

The dining table with the Opoi as a centerpiece. In the background you'll notice some leather work on a small round table.

The leather work here is Peruvian. It's an old table that my dad bought many years ago. My stepmom is Peruvian and so are my brothers.

That's the frontal view of the townhouse. It's small but comfortable, has 3 floors and 4 bedrooms. The 2nd master bedroom is on the top floor and used as an office.

Side view of the townhouse with the added garage painted blue. It's a multi use garage as it was really the small patio-BBQ with small pool for cooling off during the hot summer days (which is 99% of the time here...)

This little pool is known as a pileta down here. The summer is so hot down here that this is actually very common. Bigger houses have bigger pools of course but almost everyone has something like this to cool off and take refuge from the heat.
This house came with the BBQ-Pool area that my brother also converted into a garage. The small space easily converts into a multi-purpose area. Put away the folding table and chairs and walah ! a small garage for the 2nd car.

Another angle viewing the dining and living room with the main entrance of the house.
Here you can see I'm having my coffee while trying to get on the internet....which is always a difficulty here for some reason. (The servers suck in other words). Browsing is generally ok but uploading pictures for me was a nightmare.

You can see the dining and living room area with a corner of the fireplace and in the back the converted garage.
The townhouse came with a garage but for one car only and the conversion allowed both cars to have garage space. Always a better choice as theft is common everywhere nowadays.

I'm doing this from work and haven't had a chance to upload any more photos yet, you can click on the upper ones and go to see the rest of the batch. I'll be uploading and adding on (or maybe putting up another post if I'm not feeling too lazy)
Hasta luego (until later)
