  I'm an aspiring web writer myself. I'd like to know what site you are writing "topic based articles for" and other websites that will showcase up and coming writers of short stories and memoirs.
  
  I'm trying to write a book, so I understand your frustration with a long term project. I learned that I cannot simply force myself to write x pages a day or spend x hours writing my book. But I do have to force myself to write at times when I feel extremely emotionally charged, at no matter what hour, for however long it takes to get the story out.
  
  So I'd like to know what other sites you publish your work on?

  So much for being anonymous, but the anonymous thing isn't serving me well anyway. I find you cannot hide and promote yourself at the same time.
  I've been writing here: http://hubpages.com/link/?url%2Fprofile%2FMoonmaiden&title=Moonmaiden+-+Best+Hubs because you not only get google adsense, but you can also link to ebay and amazon in their affiliate program.
  I'm not getting paid to write there per se, but I'm writing the best stuff I can, and when a publisher wants to see my style, I'll send them there. So I'm using it like a portfolio.
  
  Or if you really want to sell your stuff, I recommend http://constant-content.com/. You can set your own prices for each thing you write. You can set a price for one time original content, or sell the same piece to multiple buyers for a lesser fee per use.

  I had noticed you weren't posting so frequently but I've had a bad case of writer's block myself so haven't been writing much myself either and assumed it was just one of those things.
