I am one of those who have chosen to work freelance and have found
it effective. Ever since I started working on my own time, my schedule
became erratic.

With that, I usually find myself working on Sundays, even just doing layouts
or writing, because I have deadlines to meet. And as the saying goes, I strike
while the iron is hot, meaning while I get jobs, I work on them non stop.

However, I came to a point in my life when I decided to consecrate my life
to the Lord. Not only is Sunday my church day, I have decided to make it
a Sabbath. Our worship service doesn't start until 4 o'clock in the afternoon,
so I have a lot of time to spare in the morning.

But instead of working on things that are related to my job, I spend some
quiet time with the Lord, do my nails, or do some housework, but nothing
related to my job.

Now, it is Sunday morning and I am doing my nails while waiting for the
internet to load my blog.:-)

In the afternoon, I would go after lunch for my share /care group at 2 pm,
and then attend worship service at 4pm.

More recently, I decided to take two days off, if I could help it. I try not
to work on Saturdays, too, not only to rest my body but my mind as well,
as my work really gets me thinking and walking and running around.

But even with the shortened working hours, I found that my income didn't
diminish. In fact, it has increased. My tithing has increased, too.

It is then that I realized that if we put God first in everything, He will indeed
supply our every need, as the bible says, we should delight in HIm first and
everything will be added unto us AS WELL.

God is good, and He is true to His word.

Now, what do you do on Sundays? Soulcast is unusually quiet on Sundays,
so what keeps you busy?:-)

God bless you!:-)

I think Sundays are for being lazy, detoxifying the body and forgeting the burdens we have to look forward to for the rest of the week. If only for one hour of ridiculous yet highly entertaining television!

Watch "FLAVOR OF LOVE" on VH1: 20 women viciously attacking each other to gain the love of Flava Flav, a tiny, wacky, African American man with gold plated teeth, who wears signature wall-clocks around his neck, formerly of the rap group Public Enemy. How does this apply to you and God? It will make you will seriously question whether there truly is a God when you see how these women behave. It's like watching a train wreck not just in slow motion but disected in a play by play articulated by the characters (or should I say caricatures) themselves. You may think you don't like reality TV, but this is gratuitous surreality TV.

I highly recommend THE CHELSEA HANDLER SHOW and THE SOUP on E! for good, chill TV watching over the weekend.

Oh yeah, and if you pick good pyjamas the Saturday night before you can stay in them through to the afternoon!

Hi Siqroid, Sunday is family day.
We usually attend Mass Saturday evenings because the church won't be too crowded.

oh yeah right, Americans are keen on football.:-)
for Filipinos, it's basketball, and I really wonder why
we pursue that game so much when we can't measure
    up to Western teams.

we are so good in boxing and bowling but they are
not given much attention (and government support),
not only Manny Pacquiao hit the world by storm.:-)

Mike, my fabulous friend, I'd rather watch Manny
    Pacquiao chomp some mexican.:-) chuckle...

it's so great how increase has happened in your life just by being faithful and putting God ahead of everything else. He certainly makes good on His promises! what do i do on sundays? go to sunday service, favorite thing to do! have fellowship, be fed with God's word, listen to my pastor and praise God with our church's annointed music ministry. what church do you go to? i'm from alabang new life. =) God bless you!
  • boyzmom said on Sep 24, 2006....
I spend Saturday at the church services and have to work Sunday afternoon. I was told I would have to work one weekend day and since I do not have childcare on Saturday, it had to be Sunday. It's only 1/2 a day and I still have time to spend with the family.

I only watch basketball as well. My child got me hooked
on that. I am pretty lazy on Sundays. The child has been
coming home for the weekend lately, so we have not
attended church for a while. And, you are right, you
cannot out give God. I have been living by faith for
quite a while now and He has never let me down.
  • HoopsCraze88 said on Sep 24, 2006....
I myself watch basketball. Unfortunatly I find that I have to work on sundays. Hopefully in the future this will change.

I do all of my homeworks for Monday, which are usually between 6 and maximum 8 (one for every period I've got daily).

I also go to church early in the morning, and used to attend Confirmation class after that (not now, though, since I already finished, and I'm just awaiting Confirmation itself). That's basically my Sunday.
  • MikoFabulous said on Sep 24, 2006....
Sorry, I was just trying to suggest something lazy and fun.

I'm young, an only child and single. I agree that FAMILY DAY is a GREAT way to devote Sundays if you have family to spend time it with, but if you're someone like me Sunday is a great time to get away from the rest of the world and JUST BE.

Watching "Flavor of Love" and "Project Runway" in my pyjamas, cooking up a storm between commercial breaks are my favorite Sunday activities. I take a hot dance class in the evening to get some excercise to burn off the calories.

So for some of you out there who are single, especially if you're newly single, Sunday is a great day to give SELF-LOVE. Indulge in activities you wouldn't usually give yourself time for.

I kinda stopped going to church :/

I don't particularly like sundays. It's dreadful. So boring, and if I were working, I hated it even more cuz it's monday the next day. Ah well...

I should go to church... *thinking*

    Cheers!

for me, sunday is a time to spend with family and friends; we usually cook or order take out and watch football.

sometimes i do work for the classes i will be teaching for the upcoming week.

sunday is not a day associated with church at all for me, nor is any other day of the week.
  • gingersoul said on Sep 24, 2006....
No church time here too. Nor in any day of my life.

My Sunday are pretty laid back mostly doing a little bit of everything........cleaning the house, calling some friends, some grocery. visiting some friend if i am in the mood....

If my daughter doesn' have any friend to play with (rarely) we go to the movie or shopping or watching some tv we like,. I allow her to play at the comp a little longer than usual.

And i cook some new stuff each Sunday dinner......it's a small tradition we started since we move in this apartment.

with God's serenity and peace as you go about
being a wife, mom, and woman for God.:-)

alien: it's good to hear that God has been faithfullly
providing for you and your family, but i've a question:
are you faithful to God as well?:-) just to keep you
    thinking, friend.:-)

missb: i'm glad that this blog of mine got you
into thinking about going to church. it is my
real aim that people will get to know God and
thinking about Him through my blogs.:-)

Zayda & ginger: i respect whatever it is you
are doing on Sundays. and yes, I like to spend
the day doing other things as well. but i just
don't neglect God. I did turn my back on Him
several times, but found myself going back to
Him anyway. I can't leave Him out of my life.
i love Him but He loves me more so that even
when i go my own way, He seeks me out.

who knows? He's also been seeking you out
    for the longest time.:-)

squirrely if you ask me.........
This beloved life of mine has been put through some serious shit. We all know that already though. I'm thinking that there are ways to hold my head up instead of down. Church and Christianity are not the answers that I seek. I need to feel whole, not...
I know that the reason my Publisher's Clearinghouse emails came to me messed up was due to the fact that I tried to attempt a money spell. It was awfully strange how it happened all around the same time. I'm also wondering why it seems to be calming do...
Ya know, I was giving the church a chance to prove itself last night. I didn't like what happened with the Pastor though. He looked at me and said "Change your ways." Like I was doing anything at that point? All I know is that I don't like being judg...
I remember people coming into my old job, harassing me saying things like "Crazy bitch, you're going to hell!" I also know what I read in the bible. It upsets me. It also upsets me that so many people have died in wars over it. It's a shame. Really....
