There are so many things that seem so insignificant yet make a huge difference for the planet that we live on. I marvel at the litter on the streets wondering why anyone thinks that another needs to pick up after them. It is so easy to keep a trash bag in the car and put trash in it and empty cig butts into it.--How about recycling?  Do people realize how much putting cans, glass and metal cans into recycling bins saves not only the planet but makes money for the people who process it.  Cuts down on taxes because no one has to be paid to pick the trash up.--Recycling through Craigs list and freecycle give people a chance to share with others instead of just adding more unnecessary items to a huge,  growing landfill situation.--Water- A resourse that is predicted to cost more per gallon than gasoline.  We actually waste more than we use.  Dripping faucets, toilets that run, brushing teeth with water running,  washing car with hose running.long showers. All these things are doable.Fixable.And one of the biggest=Lawn Irrigation. A natural lawn fits into the local envirement and  uses no water. To end the grass watering alone would allow cities and states to have more available water for the people to use.  With a concerted effort each of us can make a difference.  If we do not what kind of a world will we leave our chldren and grandchildren?

I live at the beach and people are awful about throwing trash about.  I've seen people lying next to a trash can that walk away, leaving their trash in the sand.  Of course, people come to the beach to have fun, and responsibility and respect for the environment is out of their minds.  They simply don't care.

Most of the debris comes from many of the young people in their teens and twenties.  You make a law and they will do everything they can to flaunt it.  In their thinking, being a good, responsible person is for old people who don't know any better.  Wisdom comes from the wiles of youth.

That is very true but also realize that we,  as the older generation,  have evidently not placed much value on our planet and Mother Nature as a resource. We have not raised the children to understand how important our connection is with natural life. But by setting an example now there is hope that we can do better. We do not have another planet to move to after we trash this one and who would want to offer us another planet to do the same thing to?

Well, what seemed like everywhere....
Communist or socialism refers to a world-wide society in which the means of production would be held in common, where money, wages, and profits would not exist, and in which true democracy and the greatest possible libertry would prevail....
