this isn't really about popularity. i lied. :p

i was talking w/ hunter earlier and we got to talking about a few things, chiefly soulcast (oo, big surprise, i'm sure). i mentioned to him that he's the most-loved person on soulcast, which for some reason he disputed.

now guys, we all know that hunter is the most-loved person here. can you just do me a favor and let me know that you agree by commenting?

Well, Silver, I can attest to the special place in my heart for Hunter. But you do realise that there are many newbies here that do not know of him? Also, I would think it would be natural for him to argue with you about it. Only the most narcissitic individuals would agree, right? It makes sense that he would not see your side. He is too giving for that.
  • chaime said on Sep 23, 2006....
    ditto jade.
Though I will not dispute that Hunter is 'one' of the most loved here at soulcast =)

{This may not be the best day to post this so we will
    forgive you if you repost it again and again.}

HBC was one of the first bloggers I really took notice of
because he was subscribed to just about everyone and
made a comment on just about everyone's post (not
unlike someone else I know). I think he is a SoulCast
cornerstone and I wish he were more able to participate.
I think love is a pretty strong word, but I do miss his
    participation. Hurry back my friend.

i think hbc is one of the most loved here on SC because he's "authentic" and "genuine" and his heart comes across in all his posts.

the fact that he's one of the most loved people on SC probably does surprise him, but it doesn't surprise me that he doesn't realize that.
  • rarity121 said on Sep 23, 2006....
    hunter who?
  • MikoFabulous said on Sep 23, 2006....
How do you become well known on SoulCast anyways? It's not like MySpace where people can learn a whole lot about you, strangers can even search you out based on your profile characteristics and then because of what they see, read your blog. When people can see pictures of you, listen to your music live, and watch your videos it's easy for them to like you enough to read what you write about. Here I'm a little clueless as to how to make Soulcast connections. How does this site REALLY work?
  • silverwhisper said on Sep 23, 2006....
rarity: click on the HBC tag and look for a user named hunter boyce chandler.

miko: start subscribing to blogs and commenting, just as you've been doing, and as people get to know you from your comments, they'll subscribe to you, too, and start commenting on your blog.

Hunter: It's easy for me to see you are loved.

do the well loved members get paid well?

maybe there are unpopular members out here that are earning more than just "beer money" or are popular members making more????

silver: i checked out hunter, a fine soul, i'd say

    I agree!! I agree!! :)

Though I haven't had the chance to ever "interact" with HBC, but I've read his posts and I dare to say that he's a great man.

    Cheers!

He was the first one to comment on my post.

When I came here, it was my intent to produce a purely political blog. I posted a few things about Iraq, Israel, thinking I was pretty sharp and such. When he posted a comment on my blog, I went to see what kind of stuff he was writing.

I must tell you I was completely blown away by his candor, his honesty, his ability to share.

I can't say that Hunter's ther reason why I stayed at Soulcast. I don't know that for sure. One thing I do know is that I probably would have stayed with my original intent of posting only political topics.

Now inspired by HBC(and you too, ed), I chose to share things about myself with you all. I still post political topics, as it is an interest of mine, but now I post about other things as well.

You two are to blame(thank? They usually go hand in hand). You two are the reason why Grape is not some dry politics buff here(Oh and JadeLondon, and LadyG, and iciabruxelles, WeirdWorld, NakedProf, Alienated, bloc, Alyss, happykat, Faithful, so on and so forth. Even all you newbies).

Sorry if you not listed feel left out. It's not that I don't appreciate and blame you, it's just that I don't have the room to thank(blame) you all.

I digress. I apologize, and sound off.

    Grape.

Hey Silverwhisper thanks for the heads up. You were my first subscriber - Aww shucks! I read Hunter's blog and he's sick. His writing is beautiful, he seems like a compassionate person, I'm just so sorry he's sick.
  • Jenna said on Sep 23, 2006....
I did not get to interact with Hunter either....He commented on my very first post and then all hell broke loose. But through his words and through all of you, his friends....one can easily see why Hunter is so very much loved.

    i agree!!!!!!!

and i hope this finds you well, hunter...:-)

HBC has impressed me with his honest, deep writing.
That last sermon piece that he of his blew me away and I have to go back and re-read it slowly to comment intelligently on it.
I'm sorry to hear that he's sick..as I joined SoulCast just after the time when people were " dissapearing " from blogging.
I wish him Godspeed in recovery.

I am among those who did not have the chance to witness HBC while he was still very much in action here in SC. I have read his posts and they're truly admirable. It reflects Hunter's humanness and intelligence.

Get well soon and bless us with more posts.

I agree, Silver, though I'd say you're certainly not far behind. ;-)
  • Bluesnake said on Sep 24, 2006....
I think you and Hunter are both very popular here.
  • Alyss said on Sep 24, 2006....
Jade has said it very well already but I'm saying it again.

HBC is one of the founder SoulCast members and whilst I agree that he has been and remains very popular and that many of us hold him in a special place in our hearts, I have difficulty quantitifying it as 'most-loved'.

Consider it from your own stance ed ~ what if I were to proclaim that you were the most-loved? I think you'd be objecting to that pdq which might help illustrate why he's disputing it himself.
  • silverwhisper said on Sep 24, 2006....
alyss: hey, this isn't about me. :p

SW; I know it's not about you, I was merely using you as the example. I could just have easily named someone else.

You are the one however who raised the issue. I was merely playing devil's advocate to illustrate my point.

Hunter is living proof of real life love and faith. What impresses me about the man is his willingness to share his personal perspective of life which becomes interesting as retold in his words. The intensity and depthness of his humanity is what makes him so naturally popular and easy to be liked by almost everyone at Soulcast.

Grape: You too like Silver and the rest have become an inherent part of Soulcast as your presence here forms the very core of Soulcasting. We all are, as our personal blogs have formed the very soul of Soulcast. My thanks for your kind mention.

HBC touches my heart with his words. He makes me feel his emotions, and I can't ever wait to read one of his new posts. I often speak about his health problems, the way he speaks of his wife, and his online stalkers with my wife. The way about which I referred to HBC, my wife thought he was someone I know in real life. That is what is so great about HBC, it is like I know him in real life.

HBC moves me, which I am sure he does to others. He is popular because he posts substantive material... not just a post for the sake of posting... I really dig that.

I've gotta say, ed, that you rank right up there with the popularity thing. You were one of the first to comment on my posts, and I have really developed a nice rapport with you. I don't think this place would be the same without either you or HBC.
  • Mamie said on Sep 26, 2006....
i agree, HBC is beloved. Maybe it is because he helps us to see the truth. It might be hell on wheels, but damn if it ain't truth. Surely that is a gift from God!
  • monozuki said on Sep 26, 2006....
Mr. HBC is a great man. There is no reason why he can't
    be loved by everyone here.

His blogs are the reflection of his life and soul.
He shared to us with no doubt his wisdom and deeper
    feeling.

    A teacher...a loving father...a noble soulcast members

    Kampai (Cheers) ^.^
