How could anyone be rude to this cute little girl?  I never heard of her (I'm old, remember?) so I went on YouTube....she's so cute!  Found out I've actually heard this song in the airport, just didn't know the artist.

Yup, that was shitty of him for sure.  Poor girl, whether you like her or not, it was not at all cool.  Even worse for Taylor, she froze up because she thought the audience was agreeing with him even though they weren't.

Shoot, can't see the video at work and I didn't hear what happened. Hey, did you ever figure out what that one song with the british woman singer was? The one you heard overhead at work?

Yes, thank God!  I didn't figure it out, though...Ginger and Moonriver found it for me...bless their little hearts!  It's called.......................crap!  I'll find it...

Here it is, Frags.  I love this song.  Oh, wait, you still can't see it, huh?  It's by Allison Moyet and it's called.......damn! I have to submit this before I can play it and see the title!

You didn't hear about Kanye West at the music awards?  Taylor Swift won the best video award for this song, I think it was this one...anyway, West ran up on the stage and grabbed the mic out of her hand before she could speak and said Beyonce should have won for her video.  Then the jackass said on Leno's show that he was hurting over his mother's death last year and he shouldn't have done it.  Duh.
When Beyonce won her award she called Taylor out to the stage and let her make the acceptance speech that Kanye interrupted.  Very classy, Beyonce.

"One More Time" Thank You! I'll have to youtube it later :)

No, I didn't hear about Kanye! gah! I heart Beyonce...class act!

Can you imagine being so full of yourself that you think it's ok to run up on stage during an awards show, grab a mic, and speak to the world--for any reason?  Well, maybe if there was a fire or something!

Apologies don't cut it---sitting down and shutting up for a year or two might....

I didn't watch the show, but saw on the internet, and heard about it on the radio.  Both Taylor and Beyonce (and I understand some young kid who reminded the audience that Taylor deserved the award) all showed some class.

seems to be the week for rude stuff huh?  serena williams, now kanye.....and when i mentioned this to my 16 yr old daughter this morning she says, "yeah, and how about that guy who called the president a liar!"

i'll spare you the lecture she got on the way to school after that....
  • gingersoul said on Sep 16, 2009....
Secret....the guy who called Obama a liar is the Republican Joe Wilson, btw...;-p

This video is not avaliable so i give you the link....watch it here....

Basically, it says something that its pretty obvious ...this is a culture increasingly based on narcissism, exhibitionism, sense of entitlement to express your own opionions no matter how, and delusional belief that everyone is special...

    Pretty sad..

But West and William are part of the show biz, athlete or rapper.....its all show...Serena Williams and West are just two spoiled superstars (like so many other) who can't accept losing or not being at the center of the attention...

Wilson, on the other hand, is a politician, voted by his people to represent them.......shouldn't he give the best example to the rest of the nation?....

Plus, I can only imagine the infinite outrage that would have been created if Bush would have been interrupted in the same way by a Democratic.....lol...

But then....we have to enlarge the topic....Do freedom of expressing our own ideas and criticism have to stop at some level?.....

Even a president can be interrupted if we believe in a horizontal scheme of the society and a uncensored circulation of thoughts.....questionable is maybe the way this is done....

See, I am used to political feud such the one Wilson put on for the whole nation to see.. ....in Italy is not uncommon for our Prime Ministers (leftist or rightist) being boohed during Parliament sessions...we have had real fights between parliament representatives...and i am talking of real violence, with yelling, pushes, kicks.....the whole repertoire....

I certainly don't feel proud of that display of arrogance and lack of civil respect...

Then i have to say to myself that if we do believe with passion in our ideas the time of expressing them can't always been a time for ballet swirling and cuteness....

So if we want to be really honest ...we should admit that ...if we do it, its right...if our enemy does it, its wrong?

Funny how these three episodes happened one after the other one.....like a chain reaction...
Just few days ago i was pondering something i read on an article about pretty much the same things said in the video...

Usually when trends reach the "serious" media they are already epidemic.....we don't need the anchorman of the 9 news to tell us that rudeness and lack of civility are happening.......we can see it each single day......

    Good luck to everybody...:-)
