On your next holiday drive your campervan rental New Zealand
to Ahipara's hotspot. Located in the Northern half of New Zealand's
North Island. Or 15 kilometres west of Kaitaia. Ahipara is infrequently
visited by tourist but has the quality of a peaceful holiday, its is
often visited for its beauty and spirit. Not really a good place for
shopping or scenic drives but a perfect destination for exploring the
Ahipara's culture and sand dunes. Including travel activities and
adventure pastimes like golfing, surfing, trekking, fishing, safari
adventures and camping.
Ahipara
means "sacred fire", which in times gone by was kept burning for the
community on the current site of the local school. It came to exist
because of the Ahipara gum fields, but today is better known for
Shipwreck Bay, a beautiful golden-sand swimming and surfing beach.
Ahipara is far from commercialization making it friendly to the lungs.
Fine coffees? Forget it. But locals are really very generous and warm.
There are a few shops to find,as well as a few licensed restaurants,
liquor, petrol, groceries, laundry mat and some variety stalls. The
main shopping center is located in Kaitaia, 14 kilometers down the
road, but this is not like the shopping experience you get in
Wellington or Auckland. However shopping there can be as cute as
discovering products.
