I'm finally home!!! I'm exhausted and I caught a nasty cold on the flight back but all in all I think I held up pretty well. I didn't get malaria, diarrhea or nothing lol! My trip was GREAT!!! Here are some of the pics, let me explain them:
Pic 1- Just some of the sights on my way to the Ivory Coast. I was getting anxious in the car, I don't like long car trips. It took 2 1/2 hours to get to the coast from Accra. Mainly because of the traffic and the condition of the roads.

Pics 2 and 3- The merchant ships on the Ivory Coast outside of castle Elimina, where slaves were housed.

Pic 4- The cute little kid that was following me. I gave him a bag of Skittles and he was so happy and appreciative it made me cry!

Pics 5 and 6- The plaque and wreath President Obama gave to the castlen on his visit to Ghana in July in memory of the lives of the slaves who were held there. The tour guide told us that President Obama cried openly when he took the tour.

Pics 7 and 8- These are pictures of a neighborhood outside of Accra. People live next to trash heaps like these, and I was told that the city can take up to 3-4 months to pick up the trash. Needless to say that the smell was horrendous.

Pic 9- Just a pic of the only mall in the entire country!

Pic 10- I just thought it was cool how much weight the people carry on their heads. Their posture is amazing!

Psych I really enjoyed these pics.  I'm glad that you made it through without any major health scares, but hope you're feeling better from the cold already.  Sounds like you had a pretty good time, I'm happy for you!

Psych-ed if you gave more details on the cold you picked up I could give you some tactics to deal with it effectively and fast.

    Basics I have found:

gargle warm salt water or warm tea, chamomile and mints seem best.

    Bathe in warm water.

    Drink lots of water.

The pictures are great, I really want to travel abroad, when the opportunity comes up I'll be on it.

Queenie- I know!!! And the mall is only two levels with the entire top level being a movie theater. But I found out that most people make their own clothers there.

Ginger- Great! He's such a nice man, he was surprisingly very soft spoken. We talked about hockey, he said he liked that because all most no one else in the country knows very much about the game. Me being from the mid-west knew a lot. My brother played hockey for years and I was dragged to many of the matches. I got the ok to post the pic of us today so it'll be up soon!

Secret- The flowers were from a festival that was going on during my visit. I gotta get back to ya on the name of it though.

Hege- Thanks, I was able to get food that I could actually eat. All of the resturants were very accomadating, they made me special dishes. That was cool! I'm still getting over the cold from the plane, but after a couple of days rest I'm feeling much better :)!

Uni- Thanks! Everyone there was so friendly, but my tour guide told me that they're always like that with tourists.

    UF- Yeah, that's me!

Mr. S- Thanks, I've been drinking lots of spiced tea, my mom has a recipe. Thanks for stopping by!
