By God, I know they're there if I look hard enough.

1.  Cooler weather.  We haven't had what I'd call a really hot summer, but I still love this time of year, when it's a lot cooler in the evening.  The clouds have the look of fall.

2.  Homegrown tomatoes.  The difference from grocery store tomatoes always amazes me.  I was given two of these tasty treasures Sunday, and last night we had a feast of chicken fajitas with peppers, onions and tomatoes.

3.  Forgiveness.  I made the decision to forgive a former friend, too long delayed.  The grudge was getting heavy, so I'm putting it down.  I need to do this for me.  I do not want to become a bitter old woman, and I was getting closer to that point that I care to admit.

4.  My kitty's quilt.  I made her a little red and white quilt a couple years ago.  When I rescued it, it was covered with cat hair, and with tears in my eyes I put it in the washer to wash it away.  But now I have it, and when I see it I can remember how my little queen bee used to settle her big fat kitty butt on it right in the middle of the couch.  A bittersweet memory that gets sweeter with time.

5.  My piano.  I haven't played it in at least a month, but I did earlier this afternoon.  I suck worse than I did before, but it always makes me happy to play.

I bet you feel tons lighter now that you've put that heavy burden down.  And kitty memories will continue to sweeten with time :)

fraggie,  LOL, at one time the kitty had a cute little fat butt.  As a matter of fact, that was one of my nicknames for her -- KittyFatButt.  I only ever called her by her real name when she was in trouble.

uni,  yes, I hope eventually I do.

I always like to see your positive post lists hun.  Always a good sign.  I haven't had home grown tomatoes since my dad used to grow them when I was a teenager.  We had hundreds of them all ripening on the window ledges in the house as we didn't have a very big greenhouse ha ha!

Kitty's quilt will always be special and those memories will put more and more smiles on your face.

Stopping in to say hello and that I like your positive posts, too.  (you're all making me hungry for tomatoes, though)

Yes, it's definitly feeling like fall around here!  Can we hit the pause button on this?

Sad about the kitty blanket memories, but still there's a positive feel to the words.

And I'd love to be able to play the piano--even badly!  Hope you do more of it!

MimiBella....oh, I eat tomatoes each day @ lunch....sometimes i just bite into them like they were apples...mmmm.....

If they are homegrown they have this smell that is soil, water, salt and sun all together......I love them!

My perfect combo: tomatoes, mozzarella, oil of olive, salt and pepper.

ooo I like this but no one else is adding their list of 5 good things. Let me think...

    1. Looking forward to spending Saturday with my granddaughter (and her Mom and Dad) at the zoo. Got to remember to bring my camera.

    2. Remembering spending last Friday afternoon sitting in a fabric store...looking at patterns and fabric for a couple of patterns I selected. Haven't done that in years.

    3. Doing something positive about my weight...again.

    4. The smell of fall.

    5. Friends and lovers.

    That was fun.
