Is anyone out there as sick of all the Ted Kennedy coverage as I am? I am surprised they are not calling him Saint Ted Kennedy by now. If you have been around long enough to remember the real Ted Kennedy, you would not be calling him a saint.

This article pretty well sums up the life of Mr. Ted Kennedy ...

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2321944/posts

I figure more and more of this stuff will come out as time goes on. That article does not even mention Ted's Palm Beach escapades with his nephew William Kennedy Smith. The comments on that article mention more recent things I have not even heard about.

If you have any doubts left about liberal bias in the mainstream media, then you were not paying attention since Kennedy's death. Try to imagine a Republican with Ted's past and what the media would have been reporting about him or her.

As that article mentions, Ted had a hand in most of the things that are now wrong with this nation. I saw another article the other day that contained a quote Ted made about Socialism. Something like ... “Socialism hasn’t worked in 6000 years of recorded history because it didn’t have me to run it.”

Maybe that should be his legacy ... America is still free and not a Socialist state because Ted Kennedy died before he and Obama could make that happen.

I guess every cloud does have a silver lining. Hopefully Ted is sitting on one of those clouds being instructed in right and wrong, and being shown the damage he caused to our country. But more likely he is in hell being waterboarded by Mary Jo Kopechne.

Clearly no one ever taught you not to speak ill of the dead. This guy served his country as a politician most of his life he deserves everyone’s respect for that, regardless of your political affiliation. I find it morally repulsive that before he is even cold in the ground, you are trying to use his death to score political points. I think you were trying to say that “every cloud has a silver lining” because in his death has made socialism in America less likely, try telling the man’s family that.

Well Alien, even i though you would have gave it a week or so before you posted about him, not that I am a fan of any kennedy, seems to me people have short memories or maybe just selective memories when it comes to the Kennedy clan, maybe because it is the closest thing to a dynasty america has ever had.

as for that media bias, sorry still dont see it, they left ronnie alone on his death when all the astrology, womanizing crap could have been brought up.

regardless of all that, you have to give kennedy credit for remaining true to his politics, right or wrong he didnt waffle like so many today do from bothnsides of the isle

Yes, I will give him that -- he was not a waffler. He was a Socialist through and through, but I figure he was trying to make up for all the mistakes he made.

... you are trying to use his death to score political points ...

You must have me confused with the Democrats / Socialists. They are the ones poised to use Ted's memory to railroad their stupid plan through to law, which really does not matter. They will be out of the driver's seat before you know it and sensible legislators, including sensible Democrats, will begin disarming this timebomb. Hopefully before too much damage is done.

    Who's Ted Kennedy?

Come now Alien, you'll miss Teddy like William Tell would miss having an apple to shoot of someone's head; like a whale would miss water; like Alka Seltzer would miss indigestion. Without enemies, who are we?After all, you write far more about negative things than positive, right?
  • ALIENated said on Sep 01, 2009....

He was kind of a doughnut hole to me. The "nothing" at the center of things. I will miss him like I would miss a doughnut hole. He was not my enemy, but I think he was everyone's enemy including himself. Why was he even allowed to be a U.S. Senator? He was everything that most liberals despise in the rich ... supposedly.

I won't speak ill of the dead, but neither will I miss this guy.

Personally, I think there ought to be term limits in the House and Senate. It does us no good at all to have voting blocs so entrenched that the likes of Charlie Rangel keep getting sent back to misrepresent New Yorkers.
  • ALIENated said on Sep 02, 2009....

Term limits. I wish. I think they should be able to stay a while, so we have some experience, but not more than maybe eight years, like the president. However, I tend not to try to second guess our founding fathers. It is like those guys were devinely influenced when they set up our form of government.

  • javadewd said on Sep 03, 2009....
Term limits would be nice... But then again how do we impeach a dictator?

Usually some other country does it for you. Or you have a revolution.

We should send the gays... Or the environmentalists... Right now they both hate Obama!
