Just back from FB and that "pick five" on favorite clothes. I think I need an intervention with my wardrobe. It seems that it's just now dawning on me that I may have over indulged in tank tops this summer. Winter is going to be very chilly for me if I don't snap out of it and start buying clothes with sleeves ;)
In other clothing matters, I made a spectacular fashion find yesterday. I stopped by the cancer society shop in Napa because they will often have the weirdest and coolest stuff. (ask MissMimi, she benefited a "unique" purse from the adventure last time) This time was not an exception.
I had lost my sunglasses on Saturday. I had pulled them out of my purse at the wedding to keep them from scratching up and forgot to pick them up when I left. I was heart sick when I realized a couple of hours later that I had left them at the park. There is no chance that someone will turn them in. Well, virtually no chance. I will inquire, but I'm afraid they are gone. So ....... as I purused the shop I ran across a pair of sunglasses that will get me by until I have the funds to get another good pair of sunglasses. I'll try to get a pic as they are hard to describe. The frames are very stylish art deco type. One in gold the other silver. The gold frames have brown tinted lenses. The silver ones have blue tinted lenses. I feel like I ought to be driving a model T or something when I wear them! LOL
The other find was even better. I found a white pair of opera length gloves. The type that go nearly all the way up the arm. They have 3-4 little pearl type buttons to cinch in the wrist. I tried them on, and my arms are too big, but they should fit Sweetie just right! I plan to use them to do some really funky shots in the abandoned battery bunkers by the lighthouse. Dress her up ala Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffanys and put her in the concrete and rusted iron door area for contrast. For the moment, the gloves are draped over my antique tin wall cone.
The whole trip was under $15 dollars. I only wish I'd had the funds to indulge in some of the other really vintage clothes. But, there will be other trips and I'll be unable to resist the lure of the shop. In a silly way, it's like an adult dress up clothing chest. :)
