In the beginning...
My daughter actually came to me about a week or so ago and said that she wanted to start working on eating a broader variety of foods, specifically veggies! I was thrilled to death! Another victim, i mean, partner *muahahaha*. I told her to find a recipie and we would get started.
I'm excited about the whole thing. For me it is two part;
1. Obviously eating more vegitarian meals and reducing the amount of meat i eat over all until by May i am completely veggie. It's about health and so on. Especially after the robbery last week i am thinking a bit more (as i should) about my mortality and the fact that i have 6 kids who deserve to have a Nanna Winter fawn over their newborn babies, or cry at their college graduations etc...Since those things are at least 4 years away i have some health junk i need to start addressing.
2. A square foot garden. Square foot gardening is a concept that i have been interested in for years. It is natural, uses as little space as possible, preserving the land and can be done anywhere. Even on a porch or in a kitchen! I, fortunately have a good size yard to work with so i am going to be starting the process of getting thigns ready for a nice sized garden next year. Not the least of which being a mulch area.
So this weeks goals are to
formulate "the plan" ie. what recipies we are going to try, a menu for the next few weeks with veggie meals planned and alternatives for our friendly family carnivores also planned (lest they become less friendly *grins*)
detox the body and
start the mulch box.
It may not seem like alot to some, but with 6 kids, (4 of them returning to school this week) and work, plus i would like to actually see my Daddy now and then, it's as much as i can muster.
Be well,
winter
