I wonder how many of you have seen faced suffering in a loved one? Unfortunately most of us have at some time. We all feel for them and do everything within our power to ease their suffering. Thankfully due to the wonderfull medical profession and all the continuing research there is usually a positive outcome and the loved one recovers.
What do we do in the event this is not the case, how do we cope when there is no cure. When despite the best efforts of everyone involved in the care of your loved one all we can do is see them suffer.
If your loved one is the family pet, you have the sadness of knowing that the kindest thing to do is to end there suffering and give them a dignified send off into the next life.
If however, the loved one is your wife, brother, mother, father, son or daughter, in this country that is not an option. You watch them suffer and become a shadow of their former selves. Hoping for a miracle but dealing with the day to day heartbreak of seeing a loved one move slowy and painfully towards their next life.
Are we kinder to our four legged friends than we are to our human loved ones??
