Ok, my brain and my time is too limited, but I wish I could remember who wrote the post about seeing their eyes look red in the mirror while driving, due to a reflection or something.  Do you remember?  It wasn't that long ago--maybe a few weeks.

I would have addressed this post to them, but I just can't spend the time looking at all the posts of the ones I think it might have been.  (I have two in mind, but won't say.  I'll just see who does remember)

Too bad we can't "Google" SC!

Anyway, the reason I wanted to know is that this afternoon I was drinking a bottle of water and holding it with my "steering wheel hand" and smoking with the other.

I saw blue lights flashing, hit the brakes, and cussed like a sailer!  I'm only doing about 65 in a 55.  Why bother me when I just want to go home after a long, hot day of work?

I looked for a place to pull over, then glanced in my rearview mirror to see if the cop could see that I was paying attention, slowing down, and ready to face the music.

No cop!  Not even a car behind me!

It was the reflection of my water bottle, with a blue lable, bouncing off the dash area with the gauges.  Whew!

But I have to start remembering to slow down, as I heard that in this state, they are "allowed to give you a $1000 fine for first time speeders," even if they probably don't as a norm.

But, it was funny that as soon as this happened I thought of that post with the "red eye" scare while driving.

Who was it?

Winner gets a post spotllight and free reign to hassle me with jokes every time I post!  (within reason, of course.  Don't joke with me about a funeral or something, you know?)

But do you remember who had the "red eye" episode?

no clue about the red eyed blog.  LOL @ you for getting all panicked about the blue flash ..... or was that a guilty conscience?!!
  • wombat said on Aug 20, 2009....
U-I:  Guilty conscience, maybe.   I speed right through the "slow down zone" all the time, mostly because I feel like the people behind me want me to go faster!
  • wombat said on Aug 20, 2009....
Ok, it was easier than I thought....I found the answer.  Will give a clue.

    Radar Love.

A second clue to follow maybe......
  • secretlife said on Aug 20, 2009....
i have no clue about the post.  i'm so behind on reading posts i've given up trying to stay current!
i'm glad there was no cop.  no matter how old i get, i still fear those flashing lights, mostly for the havoc one ticket can do to my insurance costs here in NJ....
  • Hegemone said on Aug 20, 2009....
I am lost on this one, don't know that I came across that post or if I did I don't remember it currently.  Hmmm, I'll have to keep an eye on this one ... not a red eye though, lol.

    I read that post.
I'm lucky I remember that much.

Wow that must have been frightening. I know that feeling all to well. I've seen plenty of red and blue lights flashing in my rear view mirror but they've always been real, no false reflective image. I've often felt the tears of a clown as I autographed that speeding ticket.    Radar Love ? Great song I may add.  I'm late seeing this post I've been very busy.  I know about those reflections I've experienced a few strange sightings myself. Can't remember any post about a red eye ;o)    .

Drawing a blank on the red eye (hardly surprising though, is it?)

But I know the feeling of seeing flashing lights behind me all too well, like CMan above me.  It's like your heart just drops to your stomach and you think, "Oh, s**t.  What did I just do?"

Sometimes, them following you closely reading your tags is even more nervewracking.

people who want to be cops shouldn't be allowed.
  • alabamagirl said on Aug 21, 2009....
I remember that red eye blog also, but don't remember who wrote it!  Sorry, I'm no help!

Maybe the "bluelight" mirage was a sign to slow down to keep you from getting a ticket!
  • wombat said on Aug 21, 2009....
secretlife:  I hate that flashing blue, too!  Luckily, I have never gotten a ticket, although I have been pulled over once for speeding. I told him, "I was just following her."   (my co-workker)   And that, "Everyone does it through here."  He just laughed and told me to slow down.

Hegemone:  So'K....I never can remember and find posts, either, for the most part.  I am normallly a "one at at time" kind of gal!

mobil:  Well, hello.  But didn't get the reference to "MASH."  I am not up to par right now.  And just got back on line after a power outage, so I am dizzy with joy!

Twylarants:  Oh good....someone doesn't think I have totally lost my mind.  But you didn't say who.  Guess I will call off the "game" and tell who wrote the post.  Maybe...

CayenneMan:  You like that song, too?  Small wonder.  It has special meaning for me, too.  And I fear the blue lights, but only when I am the guilty party.  You should pay more attention to posts.  I bet you miss alot.......

GrapeKoolaid:  Oh, I've caught them reading my tags and calling them in!  Scary as shit.  Makes you wonder what you did even 12 years ago!  You were one of the people I thought might have wrote the "red eye" post until I went and looked.  So, folks...not Grape.

studentoflife:  That's quite an interesting quote there.  Wonder what else it also applies to?

alabamagirl:  Maybe so!  I have started to slow down during that "30 m.p.h. zone in the middle there.  And I saw a cop at 4: a.m. as I breezed through.  I have enough problems without a speeding ticket--especially around here.  And again, thanks for the PM!

You said something about loving Radar.............Radar O'Reiley from.....MASH

    That was my guess Mash
  • wombat said on Aug 21, 2009....

Oh!  Now I get it!  I am slow.....

I was prepared to end this and post a link to the post, but I might just have fun with it for the heck of it.  Maybe drive a few people crazy...

But a new clue is that  "Radar Love" was just a song posted on the post in question.

    Great to see you, btw.

And I love MASH!  I loved Hawkeye and B.J.   And Radar!  I have a teddy bear, too.....

gingersoul:  You get the spotlight!  Hope it's ok to add this link to the first post of yours that I could find.

I will be ragging you maybe some more.  But for now, you can add any funny comment to any post of mine, and I will just laugh.  Cool that you did remember and post this.  I didn't think anyone would, aside from CayenneMan!  Ha!

I got confuzzled when I stopped in to get gas where I used to work, and the new lady there, who I've talked to some, interupted me with a question.

"So, you're divorced, aren't you?"

"What? Where'd you hear that?"
