Today I got a haircut. I should have stayed home. I wear my hair short as a rule. The stylist got the front of my hair right, but the back is awful. I have this weight line that I didn't ask for that follows from earlobe to earlobe. I can't wait for it grow back out.

I asked for the back to be shortened, but I'm not happy with what she did. It's not what I described. And yes, she has cut my hair before. I absolutely hate it.

My thought is that she made a mistake and had to cover it up.

What do you do when you get a bad haircut?

The difference between a bad haircut and a good one is three days.

I got a haircut about 2 weeks ago and I'm not happy with it.

The last time this same woman cut it, and it was one of the best haircuts I ever had. But this time I think she just didn't spend enough time on it.

I'm going to get it cut again this week or next, but I'll probably try a new place. Can't get any worse than it is now....well, at least I hope not.

I've got a bad haircut too! I can disguise it with a lot of gel and some bobby pins.

My hair is long and I had lots of layers and we're trying to let them grow out. But in the mean time they are driving me crazy!!

Each morning is a battle with the blow dryer! Today I won!

I take a deep breath. I try to remember that of all the problems in the world, my hair is the least of my worries. And then I remember that I have a great collection of hats and scarves, and faux braids, and hair falls, and then I don't mind at all.

As a rule I wear hy hair long. I just don't think my face goes with short hair; however I have had the occasional bad hair cut. Repeat to self...hair grows...hair grows everyday. =^_^=
I usually try different hairstyles, use bobby pins and pretend it is exactly what I was going for. fake it till you make it...right?

Short bad haircuts are sometimes hard to hide, unless you can go shorter. I had a short bad haircut with a weight line that I didn't want one time. I went to someone different and took the plunge and cut my hair in one of those pixie cuts...so I went VERY short.

Until a couple of years ago, I had always kept my hair pretty short (just usually not pixie short) for a couple of reasons.

But then, I made the decision to grow it out. I have thick but fine hair hair that I keep in layers. If I get a bad haircut now, it's fairly easy to hide because my hair goes up in a french-twist most days for work as it is.

    A wig?

Good thing about a wig is that you get a chance to be something that you are not naturally.

Not that I have much experience in it or anything. The only time I've worn a wig is on Halloween, but I see wigshops, which leads me to believe that people wear them more frequently.

    It could be cool, no?

You think you got hair problems... Try getting bad hair genes! I started loosing it at 21. I've had to resort to buzz cutting it myself to keep from looking like I'm getting kemo in my spare time.

The first time someone gives you money on the street with a look of abject pity and says 'I'm soo sorry' it's kind of funny... When it keeps happening... :/ you begin to invest in hats.

Did I mention that I love shopping for hats? I love hats.

Thanks for all of your suggestions and encouragment.

After I had a chance to style it myself, it looks a little better. She put a weight line in the back that is very prominent if it is blow dried. (I didn't ask for it.) I let it air dry and then fluffed the heck out of it. I guess I can live with it until it grows out a bit.

It's botched. My mom saw me today and asked who chopped my hair.

    grrrrr.

I'm trying to keep a good attituded. Trying very hard. :-)

I also just had my new haircut last Sunday.
& thank God it was ok..hehehe

Before I used to relaxed my hair(courtesy of gaspar,my personal hair dresser.lolz).But now I stop, since it was looking fine & going back to its normal look. Also,it is not adviseable for a pregnant woman to have it.so I stopped I won't sacrifice my baby for that...

So now without relaxed I just used shampoo & conditioner in my hair.Badly,we need to wear headcap at work & that might makes my hair a bit wavy if I dont put my hair correctly inside the cap.=(

Since you cannot change it, it is already there, why not change your perception about it. It is bad because you believe it is bad. But if you believe that it was nice then it can become nice. To believe is to see. Try it and you'll enjoy it.

After my last few visits to the salon being unsatisfactory (and this was at least six years ago), I entrusted my husband with a pair of scissors (he cuts his own hair, so why not?). He's not bad. Sometimes I trim it in the front, then have him snip it in the back. Oh, and my hair is short.

No point crying over spilled milk. Use some gel or lotion, and re style your hair. Make it look the way you wanted. Who knows, it may look very trendy and after that some people may even wants to copy your look. Create a trend.

I just got my hair cut yesterday and I asked the lady for bangs that land in between my nose and my lips and instead I got bangs that land directly on my eyeballs. This look may look nice on some people but on me it looks horrible and the worst part is it keeps poking me in the eye and it's very annoying. Needless to say I'll be wearing head bands for the next couple of weeks.

The same thing happened to me. I asked for my stylist to shorten the back and leave the front longer. I was going for the Posh style. This woman was cutting my hair fine and then I heard the buzzer. I told her to cut just a little and she cut about 5 inches. My hair looks so odd and uneven. I have to wear my jacket or a scarf all of the time to cover my neck because their is no hair. This is an experience I just want to be over. I cried for an hour and a half and I still paid for the cut. Instead of getting compliments for my hair they asked me if she was drinking when she cut my hair.

I got my hair cut the day before yesterday. I had waist-length naturally rather curly hair that was all one length and in really great, healthy condition. It fell in long spiral tubes. It was almost perfect, just needing a trim. I went in and asked for "a trim and a maybe little bit of shaping," and I told the guy that I didn't want it any shorter. I wore it like I like it when I went in to the salon so that he'd see what I was going for. Everything was fine until, in one single motion, the guy dragged the scissors downward, cutting a diagonal line from my chin to my elbow into the entire front half of my hair without even informing me what he was planning to do, much less asking. I was in a state of shock when an 11-inch piece of hair landed on my lap. I got up and paid and walked out because I was seriously in complete and total shock. It's taken me YEARS to grow out a similar cut that another mindless a**hole gave me in the late 1990s, and if this guy had taken one moment to go over his drastic change plan with me, I'd have told him that if you cut my front hair to chin-length it turns into big poofy elephant-ear looking tufts that are 75% of the wet length when dry and fall in my face all day long. I look like I got attacked from the front by a psychopath wielding a Flowbee. I am completely infuriated. I seriously went into hyperventilation when I got home and looked at it in the mirror. Now it's 2 days later. I've washed, wetted, styled, re-styled, tried clips, braids, pigtails, ponytails, headbands and scarves and it all looks like an uncontrolled mess. I don't know what to do. I want to call the salon and ask for my money back. I certainly don't want to let him do anything else to my hair. Perhaps pay me back, or else, just keep my money in exchange for assuring me that the man never touches long curly hair again. As for me, a the rate my hair grows with trims and such it will be four years before I get back the hair that I had three days ago. I seriously feel like he killed my puppy or something and I want some sort of retribution. I guess the best revenge is just putting it out to all to my friends in the community that he's awful and that he should be avoided. And let me tell you, there are a lot of gay men here in New Orleans that are big fans of my hair who are going to be pissed that it looks like this. So the word will get out. What an insensitive a**hole.

Been going to the same hair stylist for a year. She is awesome. 3 months ago she asked me to trust her. I had rather long hair, and she cut it just above my shoulder. I felt glorious. It was the perfect cut! So, I needed it trimmed. Well...she gave me a completely different style, and now I absolutely hate it. Nothing about it is right. She even did this funky 1" long under cut thing at the nap of my neck that is driving me crazy. My hair is thick and course and it is so uncomfortable. She is VERY defensive, and I don't even know how I can talk to her without her getting upset. But I'm so unhappy... :*****(

Bad haircuts are the absolute worst.  I always want it to make me feel better and when it doesn't, it feels like a real blow.  To top it off, I often feel this undeserved loyalty to a stylist sometimes.  What's up with that?
