Yesterday I took my daughter and 2 grandkids shopping for school clothes. Yes you can imagine, some of you, how happy boys are to be trying on clothes...... NOT. But, we continued, made progress. I even finally bought the boys some bunk beds for my house so they no longer have to take up the living room floor.
We stopped at KFC and ate a very late lunch which was pretty tastey as we all were quite hungry by then. Then we headed home.
On the way home, I pulled off the road and the boys went swimming and playing in the river. It is a wide river, not so deep, and a great place to cool off... not me... too freaking cold! LOL They had such fun, and I think I had just as much fun watching them play in the small current and thrashing about as boys will do!
It was close to 7pm when we left the river and headed home. About 5 miles from home, I looked at the sky and said to my daughter...... I think that is rain up ahead.... I know sooner got the words out of my mouth and the splat of some pretty big drops landed on my truck. I quickly pulled off into a pull off (conveniently located) so my daughter could gather up the bags and bags of school clothes and supplies in the back of my truck. Well, at that moment....... it started coming down in buckets!!! LOL I offered her my umbrella which she took .. the bags got thrown into the truck wet and all on top of the boys and we headed for my house. My daughter got soaked, the boys were wet.. but all things were saved that we bought!!
I spent a lot of money, bought a lot of things, and made a lot of wonderful new memories ~
I like those kind of hot summer days. :)
