Sometimes the struggle is worth it. Sometimes the reward is simply knowing you have survived and kept your promise to yourself. Sometimes that is enough.

14 months ago I decided to write a book about my father's life. I really had no idea what I was getting into but I wanted to do something to make him happy and to honor him. My father suffered a severe stroke a year and a half ago and was confined to a wheelchair. It broke my heart each time I saw him and the idea to travel back into better days came to me.

Through difficult times I kept going. Worrying that I wouldn't get through the interviews with Dad to gather information. Always worrying that he wouldn't be here to share the final product. Always worrying it wouldn't be enough to really show what a wonderful human being he was. The last 3 months I have worked until the wee hours of the morning to complete the book and now, it's done. It is being printed and will arrive next week.

I can not describe the relief that I feel. Not only because I will have time for other parts of my life but because he is still here. Still here to see how much I love him. I know he knows that, but now his very own book will be on his nightstand as a reminder.

And this book will remain to tell his greatgrandchildren what a wonderful man their Grandfather was.

I'm tired but I'm happy. And I am very happy to share this good news with all of you. Maybe another SoulCaster will decide to gather together the life of a loved one and pour it onto the pages of a book. I hope so.

I am so happy for you that the timing on this all worked out and that you're finally here with it!  How marvelous.  I can't even imagine the amount of work that went into it, but I do think it's a very neat idea.  This is the type of thing that would be neat to do for my mom some day, to sort of show how far she's come, what's she's overcome, and what she's accomplished because and in spite of it.  I think she'd enjoy it ... but I think she'd appreciate it most after she's had some career under her belt when she graduates.

I've had a peek at the process from our talks and I have to say that what you did was a huge undertaking.  I'm sure your dad will also see that and appreciate it.  I have such great respect for the determination and perseverence you showed to complete this.

I am very much in awe of you, my friend - what a tremendous undertaking of love. You are giving your dad such a wonderful gift, but more than that, you are leaving his legacy so that future generations can know that there's someone to live up to, even after he's gone. Thank God he's here to enjoy your efforts. Congratulations on completing your work, Woman. Abrazos - Wishy

Yesterday I received a very, very exciting e-mail which contained two huge pieces of news. I couldn’t say anything yesterday until I’d confirmed some of the details, but now I can make the following announcements....
I just want everyone to know that my darling wife and I celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary yesterday, they have been the best year's of my life and I pray that our dear God will bless us with health and age to do another 34. together....
It had to happen eventually....
