when i wrote this post..

http://www.soulcast.com/post/show/248385/firefly...

i remembered how i wrote poems when i was younger...

they werent really that good but i like playing with words... i like rhyming with everything even though it doesnt make sense to other people... but it make sense to me...

i also like writing novels and short story. (that's why i was surprise when twilight became a huge sucess because i started writing about vampires and humans falling in love but stop becuase i thought nobody would want to read that)

i remember that if inspiration strike me i would grab a piece of paper and pen and just write...

it all change when i grew up though...

and when blogging came into my life...

but why did i stop writing poetry like i used to? i mean i even write haikus. haikus are my favorite because theyre so easy...

well, when i was in 3rd yeard college my proffesor who was in charge of the college's magazine told us that we can pass some poetry. she said that she want some new people to write instead of their usual writers...

i passed 3 poems...

i dont know if they were good but my poems were simple.... i dont use big words... you might say a 10 year old can write them...

but i was disappointed because none of my poems did make it... even my friend's poem... he was a good writer but they didnt publish his poetry...

instead they publish the poems of the same writers... and she said she wanted new people to write to their magazine!!!

and you know what pissed me more???

the poems werent that good!!!! they like recycled the last magazine's poetry... just changed some words...

after that i dont write much poems... i would rather blog...

people like my last poem...

so should i write again??? eventhough theyre just simple???

keep on blogging!!!

I started writing poems when I was in like the 3rd grade.  I used to have a shoe box filled with them, which my mother threw out.

I used to read whatever I could, which included my big sister's English books.  I read "All's Well That Ends Well"  when most people my age were reading on the Jack and Jill level. I used to have my poems published in the paper on a regular basis when I was 15 and 16.  Funny how I don't even acknowledge that anymore as something that was kind of special.  And I like writing haiku poetry, too.

You did a good one there with the last poem, so I know you got it in you!

So where did I go wrong?  Don't know.  But you should keep on writing whatever you feel like at the time, and make it count.

    Queen,
Don't stop doing what you enjoy and like doing. If something you do is really to your liking, the outcome will always be something nice. Wombat is right, you got it in you!
I enjoyed reading firefly... Yeah, expect to have some days when you feel like you've run out of words or can't get it right but it's all part of it. Like you said, you were inspired doing the last one, then find your inspiration, your muse or whatever it is that brings out the poet in you. Sometimes we think what we have written is not that good, but it works for another, so just keep writing! (and keep dancing) :-D

Queenie, without a doubt, keep writing poetry. for no other reason but that you like to and the more you do something the better you get at it. i really liked the Firefly poem. it make me smile and imagaine this little bug. lol.... so yes, you have it in you to write in any form! don't you know!

Oh I say you always write.  If you like it then do it, to heck with what anybody else says.  If you happen to choose to share your poetry, there's going to be some who like it and some who don't.  But you still get the fulfillment of having written it, and knowing what it means to you.

queenie, you should write more poetry.
    yes, definitely. more poetry.
    me-my put it so aptly:
the more you do something, the better you get at it.

    Queenie......why do you even ask?

Poetry is for expressing your own feelings, not for pleasing the readers.

If only for giving relief to your emotions, why shouldn't you keep writing?

I also suggest to start reading poetry. A whole world will open up in front of your eyes....:-)

i believe it was pickersplock that reminded me that i'm not writing poetry because it's popular, i write it because it needs to be written. they are some of my least read and commented posts, and some of the ones i like the best. write them for you, write them because they need to be written, and don't worry about anything else.

no poetry is an essential element in our society that nevers gets the credit it deserves... I only recently started writing it, have always enjoyed writing but felt that poetry had too many rules and was something only a few actually appreciated but too me is a thousand times more expressive and heart felt than any writings that I have done..

If there are poems in you wanting to be written, then YES! You write because you need to. Because the words flow through you. Not because you want the words judged. Write Queenie!
