Timid Zappa

Aero drinking

Aero climbing

Well folks, as you can see, they certainly made sure I was no David Bailey lol!

Zappa, who is the largest of the two (they are 2 of quads) is the timid one, or 'Scardy Cat' as he has been affectionately named.  He dives down the ladder, grabs some food from the second floor, then flies back to his little 'den'.  When he wants a drink it is for about a nano second if he sees me with the camera bless him.

Aero, well, what can I say.  Aero by name and Aerodynamic by nature.  He thinks he's in training for Everest or Ben Nevis.  I wish I'd of had a video recorder going yesterday.  I had to remove the ladder that leads from the second level down to the ground to clear out some newspaper off the floor.  Aero hadn't noticed that the ladder was missing and took a dive but just managed to hold on by his feet to then make a semi-graceful landing.

They really are commical to say the least and are already well and truly under my skin.  Hopefully, one day soon, I may get a full body shot of Zappa :-)

This system for putting Flicker photos up drives me friggin crackers AAAARRRRGH!!!

The pictures were medium but all look like the large ones.
Edit post would not let me delete them and replace them with smaller ones.
My pictures originally only had 2 line spaces between them but they now look like they've all fallen out with each other lol!!

Sorry it's not in a very good format.  Oh well, at least you get to see some blurry photos of my little babies :-)

Im jealous!  I would absolutely love to have pet rats.  ^_^  However my mother is dead against that.. *sigh*  She says they are diseased with the plague which is not true at all.  The rats didn't have it, it was the fleas on the rats.  Also, I'm not wanting to pick up sewer rats gosh! =p

Any who, your lil rat babies are totally adorable! ^_^

PC they're SO cute!  My gosh, I had no idea.  I'm guessing the first one was of Zappa, and his face looks so cute!  He looks like one of those little guys' who'd melt my heart.  Then Aero, what a neat little guy ... ha, sounds like he's prepared for anything!  He'd be fun I bet.

Oh peecee, they're so cute!    Do you ever let them out of their cage?  I can imagine they'd be good at finding all sorts of things to get into.  I can see why you fell for them!  :)

simply - aaw I wish your mum would let you have some.  Strangely enough the domesticated rat is one of the only pets that cannot transfer disease and there is only one transferrable disease they get and that is parvo and they can only pass it on to another domesticated rat.  I guess it's your mum's way of covering up the fact she's scared of them lol!

Hege - you guessed right, Zappa is the scaredy cat ha ha!  Aero is so full of life, the state of the cage when you got home just now.  It looked like 20 rats had played rugby in there ha ha!

Triple M - Aero gets his debut in the living room this evening.  Rats are meant to be come out once a night for at least an hour but, due to the petshop not handling them right (that still erks me), we've had to take everything very slowly, step by step.  I'm hoping that Zappa will feel better about it all once he's seen his brave brother exploring lol!  Gosh, I need them both out at some point to really sort the mess out in the cage :-)

  • pusscat said on Aug 13, 2009....
Unicorn - I'm glad you like them, they have those faces that you just can't help but like lol!

Rose - I love that white marking on his tummy.  It's actually like an elongated star when you can see it clearly bless him.

Me-My - hi hun.  Goosebumps ha ha bless you.  They will at least double in size and then maybe a little bit more.  Approx 10 inches long without the tail.

Yeah and I'm so fucking jelous!

Actually I'm not, I had a great night at work. REALLY busy and really hard, but I impressed a few people that didn't know me so I'm happy.

    How was puss's seaside trip?

  • pusscat said on Aug 15, 2009....
Glad you had a good time in the kitchen.  I like busy too.

I felt like I was 8 years old again lol!  Shit!!  Zappa just scared the shit out of me ha ha!  He gets a bit jumpy when I'm typing for some reason and just charged up the ladder which makes a loud noise.  Right, where was I?  I just put on an above the knee skirt so I could paddle just up to my knees.  It was windy but warm and not too many people on the beach either.  I was following a little group of 4 baby Dippers chasing the wave out for tiny fish then running like hell as the next wave came in lol!  So cute and funny.

Cool. I like the sea. Lucky I live by it really.

I totally forgot that I've been to Dorset once.  Not sure if i'm gonna spell this right but it was a tiny village on the river Avon called Wyer Piddle ha ha!  Always tickled me that did.  It was 20 years ago though when you were in nappies lol!  I saw more cow pats that week than ever in my life.  We stayed with our mate, Arthur in his caravan where he lived and we had a picnic in a pub garden at midnight, in the rain in waterproofs and we were stoned (so was the landlord).  We even had red salmon and corgettes would you believe?!  It was March and the landlord brought us a heater out and a bottle of wine! :-)
  • seer said on Aug 15, 2009....
That sounds like Dorset, we've got the River Piddle (changed to RiverTrent for a queen's visit, but still referred to as Piddle), Butt Lane (in Bere Regis), a small town called Shitterton, etc.

I love this county man, and not just for the stupid names!

And I wasn't in nappies at two!!!
