So my experience with blogging is as follows...
1) type the word "blog" into Google
2) click on the one that says "free"
3) sign up with Soul Cast
Yes, I am about to lose my blog virginity; I'm about to enter the realm of the unwritten journal; I am putting my thoughts out for everyone to read and comment on rather than keep them hidden in a secret journal with a secret key that only someone with an bobby pin could break open.
Okay, so I haven't used a diary like that since high school, but the point I am making here is this...there is an entire generation of us who are trapped somewhere between Cassette Tapes and iPods. We safely crossed over to CDs; we gladly gave VHS tapes to Goodwill and replaced them with DVDs. But there is a certain fear that comes with invisible media. And by that I mean the ability to produce and/or own something that ISN'T REALLY THERE. Music without jewel cases and journals without leather covers floating out in space for anyone to see seems fragile. Only the opposite seems true. And I guess that is why I am here. Well, that and a nasty case of insomnia.
So I feel a bit like Dorothy, already thrown into a new life in Kansas, only to have it ripped out from under her feet by that tornado. I haven't seen that movie in a while...maybe I'll rent it from Blockbuster...or maybe I'll watch it on streaming video through NetFlix.
Baby steps...
