  • hotaka said on Aug 04, 2009....
OK. I had to look. I am used to reading upside down because sometimes my students read from a text book that only they have and I have to follow by reading upside down.

Now if you can type backwards that should be impressive too, though I tell you I can read backwards as well.

I just wonder how you did it. Is there something that Bill Gates of Steve Jobs has kept secret from most of us?

Oh, wait, I peaked at the above comments and I see others can do it too.

since moon gave out a website, i thought i'd give a little more explaination of how this works. it's not actually flipping the text you write upside down, that's why some letters aren't in line. what it's doing is taking your letters and converting them to characters from other fonts that look like upside down versions of that letter. if you look at examples of the 'latin extended' and the 'international phonetic alphabet' characters, you'll find the upside down version. then all you have to do is put the letter to the left instead of the right when it's typed, and viola! upside down and backward sentences :-)

Hi All! Mozart? Yes! But, if you practice, you can do the same as my old lady! She tries speaking Latin to the kids - frontwards - but it has only limited effect. Maybe that's better than no effect!
Mozart, he wrote a number of cute pieces where you could place the sheet of music between yourself and another musician sitting opposite and facing: i.e. flute, clarinet etc. Each starts playing from what is to him/her the upper left side of the music. The result is a super, pretty duett!
Ginger, I loved your song!!!! :-)
Moon, I'm fine but hell of a busy. I have no business being here on SC just now.... but maybe Steppie is just  a little bit too hedonistic....
    Love ya!

    hi ginger.
i love this song, but i love the miro-like animation even better.
especially where the line "cows are the moo(n)iest" comes in.
i think i'd like to shape-shift into a were-cow this next full moon, like eagle said.
you can be your youiest, and i can be my zaniest.

    hi steppe.
yeah, i think mozart's brain was wired a bit differently from the rest of us.
but that people can rewire their brains to adapt to new needs.
i wonder if that's the reason people are mortal... so that their rewired brains and souls can reincarnate and thus further evolve.

    hi sehnen.
you speak in riddles, my friend.
but behind the cryptic lines, i sense a deeply-thinking mind and a deeply-caring soul.
    full moon's up soon.

ginger, i don't think i'd want to be one of the seven dwarfs happily trudging on their way to work, and then come home to snow white's bland castle cuisine.
i'm a woodland elf today, exploring the gray caverns of gold-digging corporate gnomes, and looking for my lady galadriel.

    hi ginger.
a while back, me and my son jiggy took time off from everything else for a looong weekend.
we did a marathon dvd day watching all three LOTR films by jackson.
then followed earlier animated features 'the hobbit' and ralph bakhshi's lotr.

jiggy fell in love with the galadriel character of cate blanchett.
    i like lady galadriel.
for me, she represents the sometimes gentle, sometimes terrible truth that makes life in the world worth living.

but i like the eowyn character much much more.
she looks like my old, almost-GF ruth.
she even looks like her! lol
one with fierce loyalties, one who can think on her own, one who fights well to defend herself and her loved ones.

i look at myself as a hybrid between hobbit and elf.
in more ways than one... ;-p

    hi sehnen.
i apologize for not having commented on your blog for a long time now.
i'll try to give more time once i get settled down.
(i do take peeks every now and then...)

    yup, i solved the riddle.
that man is my son, and i'm his father ("my father's son").
but the akbash snippet of code, not yet.
is it a common and generic message like "awooooo"?
    or a more esoteric one?
    any clues?
i'll try to do it again later... :-)

Hi Ginger! You make me realize that I take things too seriously. My martial arts master told me the same thing.... Thanks for the wonderful songs!
I will have more perspective with the comming duets.
Galadriel was also a gift! The celtic festival is getting a little too commercial, I am told, otherwise I would think it a super place for all of you to visit once.
Yes, my old lady also did Ancient Greek. As for me, Latin I wanted to do, but going to high school in a little provincial town in Wisconsin prevented that. I did get a correspondence course, but American provence being what it is, it didn't work out. And yes, Ancient Greek! I would love to.... it's a garden of a language.
I'm just the dummy around here. Maybe that's why I love those songs!!!
Moon, not too long ago I was in Oxford and my friend pointed out the pub where Prof. Tolken drank his beer.
And, Moon, I love both Hobbits and Elves. You're a winner!
Sehnen, I came up with a "cousin"???

Moon knows very well the level of her silliness, and her epic tantrums as well...;-p

I have visited Oxford too but didn't ask around about Tolkien's pub, to honest...lol...

Actually, this scene is in the only LOTR movie i watched at the theater....i remember that i just blurted out in laughter when it came on.....I turned to my ex husband and i told him

"Geez... this is the gayest scene ever...i always knew these Hobbit stuff was on to something".....LOL...

A LOTR geek looked at me with such a stern face.....i had to suppress my giggles or he would have chocked me with his supersize popcorn cup....LOL...
  • steppenwolf68 said on Sep 04, 2009....
Hi Ging! I didn't ask about the pub.... the person knew I liked Tolken and pointed it out spontaneously! I was also in the pub in which Bill Clinton was supposed to have smoked weed! It had been a favoured watering hole for a number of very famous people - Bill was in good company!

They have a TV program here, Sendung mit der Maus, which I watched even before I had kids. When it came on last Sunday I asked my daughter, now 14, if she wanted to watch it with me. "Naaahhh". That hurt me. Kids are magic and live in magic worlds. So sad when it goes lost. But she did come running when at the end they sent an episode of Sean the Sheep! I felt better.

I didn't know Chineese (?)  -he said he was- had big feet. Maybe that's the hobbit in him.

Video was suspicous! The flash suggested something great was happening to him, but when whe came up with the ring I expceted to see blood. What a blog. First werewolves and now vampires! Do you think she bit it off?????

I better get out of here.......!!! :<(

and now you've infected me, you funnyhead you!

Been missing out on the fun, but I perked up just watching the videos.  I somehow let go when I see other people losing it and laughing.  I need to do more of it without help!

Moon:  the net link at the very bottom of my screen, next to Windows "Start" says Soulcast-' ' ' square box, somthing upside down, square box.  Looks like oj backwards and upside down.

Don't know why this amuses me....but hello, you nuts out there.

Yes, Ging, and if you were around I would pour you a glass of ice cold rosé. I found a great one in a market near here. It was cheap and good! Then some idiot gave it a silver medal, which they pasted on the bottle, which made all the Krauts buy it! Now I get none! That took the smile off my face .... people were wondering what I was doing on my hands and knees, rumaging in back of the bottles, looking for my fix....
.... found one I like from Anjou. so I'm smiling again.

2 years German! That means you will have to make it a point to come by when you are in Europe! Would we ever stop laughing enough for you to refresh your language? We would go to my Italian friends café - he is always joking with me! I think you would fit right in!
Wombie, you can come too! Indeed! You should come!
Ginger can come along too but I will keep the dog around for protection. lol   I wonder if she really does bite.... I don't really think so.
Ginger, the reason I thought otherwise was that she got the ring so fast! Dosen't anyone take the time to enjoy anything any more?
Also, gut! I think Ginger gave me the girl of my dreams in the weather girl above.   I'll have to make my way over to Luxembourg.

Oh, and i like red wine, mon ami, those rose' wines are not for me....maybe your new weather-girl had one too many of them before that video...lol....

Anyway...just to reassure you about my biting habits...you don't need to bring a dog with you when we will meet ...i know how to behave, don't listen to Moon......lol..

It will happen in some bistro'...and i will be dying for the laughter because you will try to teach Moon some dirty German words...and he will totally mispell them.....;-p

like ginger said, bullstuff like this happens to comments every so often.

ginger, how do you know that i'll misspell or mispronounce the dirty german words?
steppen and i will talk about der schniedel und poppen die schnitten und snicker like schoolboys.

Moon! German really doesn't have that many really obscene words. Nothing like Russian, where you can swear in certain levels! But, yes, I will gladly teach you all the important ones before Ging gets there. I'll still bring the dog, Jana, because she will protect us from all these wild women! (She's the jealous kind!) And....

Ginger, Herr Moon und I don't caren ein bit ifen Du us in the scholder bites, as long as it's only unser Scholteren!!!

You both bring a lot of sunshine into my life, thanks... and thanks, for your understanding Moonie, I really am as dumb as I look! I have proven it here! So, I'm off with my boy, now 11, to the Alps for a few days. Knuddie is a big mountian and Murmeltier (mous alpinus to you, Ging, with your 8 years of Latin - I'm very impressed and jealous -) fan, and the Alps are at their best in the fall. But I'll be back in about a week to see my new girl friend and her weather map!

Yes, Moon, we will carry on, drink lots of whatever, and Ginger can pience (that's a good Kraut word) at us for attracting so much attention and misbehaving.... We'll have to go to my Italian friends... he would join right in.... Ciao for now.......
  • moonriver said on Sep 07, 2009....

Hmmm.... I think I hate your dog. Lol

So long as it doesn't involve any 100-proof ethanol.
    That's too flammable, my friend.

  • moonriver said on Sep 09, 2009....
ginger, i can understand the feeling of missing a dear friend who passed away.
now multiply that by 10 (or thereabouts).
dear friends who are missed, not because they died (although they probably are by now), but because they're still missing, literally.
    desaparecidos after 2, 5, 10 years.
that's why my next blog remains desaparecido too.
    i'm still struggling with it.

no, I have no idea what the significance of the number 51 might be. But 51 blog links were dumped into one of my email accounts, and I wondered if the number had some meaning.
  • steppenwolf68 said on Sep 10, 2009....
Sehnen, hi, and no, I have no idea of where the number 51 came from... but it's the middle of the nite here and I am too tired after the last few days to think very much anyway. Maybe Moon will clue us in.....
Oh, Moon, no! Jana wouldn't chase anyone away! She is so sweet and lovely. If only all women were like her! She almost never complains and she likes people and loves little kids and other dogs. And she would protect us.
And, Ginger, now that I'm back from my little Alpine excursion I will put your mind at ease in that I will not give you anything evil. (The last person I gave a Raziputz to almost choked so I stopped those kids of antics.)  Moon and I would laugh and giggle around while he learned all the bad words I know, but when you get there -  women are always late! - we will suddenly become the perfect gentlemen you know we are and only use a higher language. We wouldn't want to pervert you... or something like that! Moon and I will be polite, won't we, Moon?
But sorry, Ginger, to hear about your friend. It's like loosing part of you. Makes it harder to fool around when you hear somethng like that. my sympathy.
  • moonriver said on Sep 14, 2009....
sehnen, probably it just meant there were 51 blog links available.

steppen, maybe 51 is your present age? lol
i'd like to meet jana, even if she isn't sweet and lovely, but a fucking bitch. lol

i miss my dogs, but my sister's dog is filling that vacuum nicely.
her name is xea, a 1 year-old and very frisky labrador.
like, she's looking at me outside my bedroom window right now.
    like, she's on the roof.
my son taught her how to climb the backdoor fire-escape stairs, walk on the roof terrace, and go round the front and peek into bedrooms windows.
    i think she's a budding voyeur.
when i get my bike back and resume my morning route, maybe i should teach her to run the entire circumference of the university campus with me.

  • gingersoul said on Sep 14, 2009....
    Moon...a voyeur Labrador???

Only you can come up with such four legs kind of buddy....lol....

It surely doesn't act like my dog...

Like he is sleeping on the couch right now,
like he is still sleeping on the couch....

Not a lot of room for frisky movements here...and thank goodness he sleeps a lot......i don't have backdoor fire escape stairs, or a roof terrace...

This dog would fall from the balcony if he were frisky like Xea (pretty name, btw).....lol...

Steppen....watch out, there...am a very atypical woman then because i hate being late and i don't like to wait for people who are late.....;-)

But that Raziputz something you want me to drink......you will have to drink with me.....or better.....give it to Moon...i really wanna see him babblering in six languages and singing in Mandarin an Alpin yodel.....lol....

Psst: thank you for your kind words.
  • moonriver said on Sep 14, 2009....
    ginger, xea's a groin-sniffer too!
i guess she thinks it's an acceptable form of greeting among humans.
    she also loves belly tickles.
hhmm. maybe i should innovate and make groin-sniffing and belly-tickling a new form of greeting among my homo sapiens friends.

give your dog a tickle in the belly tonight.
that's my way of saying buonanotte to xea the voyeur groin-sniffer.

  • steppenwolf68 said on Sep 14, 2009....
Moon, see how good dogs have it? If you or I tried to greet a lovely two-legged female like that, we would wind up wearing frying pans on our heads! And they get to sleep!!! Ahhh... Jana is sleeping near me right now. Green envy mounts. But she is not a groin sniffer, nor is she a voyeur.... she is actually loving, kind, quiet (unless she smells roasting chicken or sees a cat!). Everyone loves her....  but your crazy dog? He sounds like a barrel of laughs....
I'm not 51. I thought the nr. came from Sehnen, but now I can't find the start of it. Are we all drunk and don't know it?
.No, Ginger, I don't give Raziputz to anyone any more, so both of you are safe. I am always joking around, but when a friend's wife almost choked on it, I stopped fooling around like that. Even I have a limit.... only fine wine and bubbly for my friends now. But I'm sure we can give him enough to get him to yodel! :-o
An atypical woman who is never late! Then you are an atypical Itai as well! I'd better be careful, 'cause I am often late 'cause I'm always trying to do too much in a given time and ....  you'd probably kill me and drink all the wine with Moon!
  • steppenwolf68 said on Sep 14, 2009....
Just an afterthought. We here don't have to worry about Werewolves because we know that dogs - and wolves - are nice people. The poor wolves just haven't had very good PR....  that's all.--   :<))
  • sehnen said on Sep 15, 2009....
i don't buy it. things are done for a reason, especially by neurotypicals. there's always an agenda. and when dealing with certain types of people, there is always a code. if that makes me suspicious, so be it. but i've been around the code people for a long time now.
  • steppenwolf68 said on Sep 15, 2009....
Sorry, Sehnen, I didn't understand that. But then, I'm probably too tired to understand much of anything at the moment. At least now I know that the 51 is the number of blog links u got. I found it! Code people? I think I understand that, but I don't pay much attn to the psycho stuff, I'm too busy with my kids, wine, champus, and my nice dog.
And, Ginger and Moon, when I was in Denmark recently, a young girl stopped me, pointed to Jana and asked, "Is that a wolf?" ......................ok................!!!
  • gingersoul said on Sep 15, 2009....
    Steppen......post Jana's picture.....;-)

And about the wine...you betcha i would kill for a good red one....;-p

Oh, and babelfish  is the name of a site where you can translate from virtually any language to any other language of your choice.....

Ok, Ginger, I'll see if I can get a pic of Jana up here. My boy lost our dig.camera on school outing and new one is another brand and must be learned first. Jana is 40 Kg. (88 lbs.) of pure love! Nice to people and loves kids. I'll try soon.
Red? Yes. A friend of mine near French border won prize for best red wine of Germany! What surprised me was he produces the best Gewürtztraminer I have ever tasted! Don't get me started on wine!......I won't stop......;-) But I like it all, just as long as it's not plonk!
Babelfish! Shows I'm just as dumb as I look! Where do you get all this super info? I'll have to take lessons from you.... and Moon! No, I got what Italian I have in me the hard way!
  • moonriver said on Sep 16, 2009....
hi ella. i hope you're enjoying the fun text site.
hi misty. yes it was my life's theme for the whole month: an august moon werewolf living life upside down... :-)
hi sehnen. yes, friend, it's been a busy busy busy busy week for me. and you?
hi nutty one. because it's fun to say silly things, silly boy!
hi above, you're being funny yourself! keep a straight face, dude :-)

  • moonriver said on Sep 16, 2009....
hi ginger. babelfish is too spotty, although it has its uses.
i use digital grammar books and dictionaries, like rosetta.
and no, babelfish doesn't have swahili and urdu in it, sheesh...
so that means you can't get me to blabber in 6 languages even if you can get me to drink a jug gallon of moonshine...which you can't.

    hi steppen.
just between the two of us...
here's a jug gallon of moonshine.
let's drink it all up before ginger wakes up. lol

Moon, see what you started? This must be the funest post ever! And, yes, from Gingers remarks about red wine... I suspect we had better be careful! She might just be able to drink us both under the table!!!
But for bad words.... we will have to meet a little earlier. I don't want Ginger to be shoked at some of the more intimate expressions I know. She just might get the wrong impression  (insert knowing smile here....).   There are some good French innuendos as well.
See, Ginger,  I am considerate! But I still have fear and respect! Yes, I looked in on the Babelfish site, but would have to spend some time figuring it out. The time is the problem.I Also looked around SCs "help" - under posting fotos they said that SC is about words and so....  I will try taking a photo from sons SD and cutting and pasting here. If one works, then I will post more. Jans is a lovely lady indeed.
So, I have to come back to earth now and do some work. It's just so much fun around here..... and I learn so much... !!!  One just can't keep up!

Allan......the more stuff you fill your life with the less you have to think about the stuff you filled your life with...

A friend of mine is a perfect example: she has the week scheduled to the last second...

Two kids, a work, a home, a dog, school and extra school activities....you would think she is busy enough, right?

Wrong.....she has to go the PTA, she has to organize a party that nobody asked her to organize, she has to clean the house each single day, she has to do so many things she coudl easily not having to do ..

The only times she is alone and can rest is probably in the bathroom... but even there.....alas.... she is busy...

I told her that she has what i call Syndrome of Self inflicted martyrodom of Emptiness......she wasn't very amused....lol....

Moon....bleh... i don't need to use anything.....i speak seven languages..dont you know?.....lol.... And i can cross the Seven Seas too....lol..

Steppen...i will PM you the instructions for posting pictures and videos here at Soulcast.......;-)

  • steppenwolf68 said on Sep 17, 2009....
Yes, Hi Sehnen, in one way it may seem so. On my way to Denver some a while back I met a foxy lady on the airplane, in the course of the conversation she told me I am what is called an "over achiever". I chose to disclose setting, and circumstance because I am not certain what an over achiever is! And, if I got it right, she's right.
When something needs to be done on the house, unless it's something to do with electricity, I have to call on a neighbour friend. Here in Schwabenland they are very handy! He drinks three or four beers and I drink one too. We laugh a lot and I learn more and more dialect from him. These are indeed things one could get a couple of workers to do, but this way I searn at least something about whatever. It's a damnsite better than sitting around howling at the moon.... or something.
On the other hand, for my soul, I am a project singer. With a friend (who sang under Rilling 5 years long) I will be working on bass duets from Lowe, and in a chor I will be contributing to several Bach Cantatas which we will perform in December or January in well known venues. One day I will post on a concert tour to the places where HE worked, stood where HE stood and sang the music he wrote. And that, my friend, was my orgastic musical experience...... among others!....  and, very much in depth!
So all is not superficial..........  but to handle two kids, a not well wife, a dog, friends and colleagues with their technical problems, a friend with a wife that drinks etc..... one is busy. Recreation is a mountain or two with my boy, whatever I still can with daughter and walks on the old Roman road with dog, with or without kids........
And when I go to bed, I'm damned tired! So, now everyone knows what ol' Steppen is about......  and I'm happy!
Ginger, I just had to set the record straight here. I am taking the luxury of roaming around the net tonite, I can do a nite without the news. Ok, thanks, I will look at my PMs now. That's what friends are for, I don't have to spend the time figuring it out, just ask Ginger! Yes, I will keep that in mind.... (and I'm not like your friend, am I?
Moon, you seem to be spending far to much time in your den. They do keep you busy there it seems........ciao

perhaps for some people, busy is a lifestyle that allows them to play some trampoline at 2 a.m.

    hi steppen.
no i wont delete what you've written, friend.
let's keep it there for all time, so that 35th-century archeologists will have a bit of work to do, trying to decrypt this stuff, between my upside-down text and your html-ese.
mieanwhile, let me take a long swig at that ratzeputz.

"how to get that to paper by hand..." lol
    i know you'll find a way.
which in fact is everybody's way.

ginger, i've been androgynous even before final fantasy.
you don't have an inkling of how many gay and straight men have been attracted to me.

  • steppenwolf68 said on Sep 20, 2009....
Hi Moon! Thought I would come back to a clean slate! But I really did lol at what you wrote and ... ok. Who am I to argue with you? But Sehnen is right, I should slow down... I have one friend who, when he calls me, asks if I have had my heart attack yet??? I always tell people I live here 'cause the pace is slower...!?!?
... but in the future I will try to keep away from the trampoline at 02:00 CET!
No, you don't get Ratziputz! I wouldn't do that to anyone any more. You and Ginger get only good things....Federweißer! That's for nice people! Raziputz is like drinking pure Tobasco or eating Sambal Olek pure! (But only Moon gets to learn the nasty words. After all, what would the lady think?)
  • moonriver said on Sep 20, 2009....
    hi steppen.
"clean slate" is no longer in the realm of possibilities, my friend, at least as far as this blog is concerned.
    it's all hopelessly messed up.
a classic case of organized chaos, exactly the way i like it.

as for me, the idea isn't to always slow down, or to always speed up.
it all depends on the kind of road, traffic conditions, and the urges of female company.
right now my pace is that of al pacino on a ferrari, driven wild by the scent of a woman.
federweißer is fine too, but i rather like a shot of raziputz while practicing the nasty words. lol

  • steppenwolf68 said on Sep 21, 2009....
Ja, Moon, you're so right! And we must be very intelligent indeed, because it requires great intelligence to bring order into of chaos!
And the innuendo on the trampoline did not escape me! You see, great minds think alike.... disregard the rest! And, this weekend the town was full of French and Italian girls. I would have posted this one but my hands kept shaking... pics didn't  turn out too well..... so I have to leave it to your imagination....
Yes, but that your post was hijacked was all Gingers fault!!! She just swept me away!
OK, one Raziputz, and I will stand by to save you. I will also have to give you lots of champus to make up for it too. But that's ok, I will halp you drink it!
Yes, Moon, I bow to your superior wisdom..... ;-)))  .... and then go back to howling at the moon............  (pun intended!)
      Ciao, my Freind
  • moonriver said on Sep 21, 2009....
    jawohl, herr steppen, jawohl.
i was at work last night.
got a sudden urge for steamed rice buns at 1 a.m.
you know, the buns that contain slabs of meat inside.
so i get off work, hie myself to a bun counter, and indulge my inner wolf.
man, are these chinese buns steamy-hot or what. (wink)
oops. you were talking about french and italian girls? lol
  • steppenwolf68 said on Sep 22, 2009....
Yes, Moon, I spent enough time in the former British colonies, and in GB itself, to have learned their language. lol! And your play on words did not escape me at all.
I just got the new camera a cable so I could download pics  to computer and post some of them. The software will take some getting used to. Maybe that's good, 'cause if I took any pics of the little French girl who sold me much more goodie than I intended to buy..... she had a pair of eyes!!! ......... you, my Freind, would be howling so loud I would certainly hear you all the way here. It took me at least a half hour to remember my name!
And yes, I like Chinese buns too. I saw a lot of them when I was in Hong Kong!!! You lucky  ________ (you fill in the blank!)  And yes, they can be very hot!!!  (;-ooooooo)
  • moonriver said on Sep 22, 2009....
steppen, my friend, you've been around the block quite a bit, haven't you?
chinese buns and a french pair of yummies...
don't tell me you also had your fill of italian feet? in boots? lol

  • gingersoul said on Sep 22, 2009....

Moon.......everybody knows Italian shoes are the best, mon ami....;-p

I wouldn't be surprised if our Steppen had such very elegant taste .....;-D

  • steppenwolf68 said on Sep 22, 2009....
Hi! I missed my friends tonite, I got an e telling me we would be meeting in an Irish Pub. I couldn't find them and went to the usual place. No one there but the amazing waitress.... who engaged me in a nice conversation... she must have seen the inner werewolf stirring within, for she looked very serious indeed. But she didn't go away... Moon, was I as dumb as I look tonite???
So I came home. One early nite wouldn't hurt. And I looked in on my mail to see if the meeting place had been changed again, and what do I find? two boot fetishists prowling around the web.
Yes, Moon, and buns and yummies are always good... nationality is irrelevant.
Yes, Ginger, you tell him. But Moon is a smart guy, and knowledgable people  know that Italian shoes are the best! Yes, I do get my shoes either from France or Italy. Unfortunately, I do have expensive taste...  and I like to think it's elegant, but next to any Italian I look just like any other slob, Ging. So now you know!
  • steppenwolf68 said on Sep 23, 2009....
(It's the next morning)... Now that I've had a little sleep, I suddenly realized that my subconcience had picked up on Moon referring to Italian boots. Ginger, that has something to do with you! Did I miss something???
Moon, I think the girl was just being polite, now, but was becoming a little concerned as it became more and more difficult to tell me apart from the dog. Panting and salivating is no way to impress a lady.....
