OK, i'm a giants fan. i've been a giants fan for some years.

as such, this means that i'm pretty familiar w/ the philadelphia eagles. they're a darned good team this year. and in almost every statistical category, they should have won the game today.

but they didn't. and i'm pretty happy about that.

i'm concerned by the fact that my offensive line can't protect my QB, that my highly-touted defense couldn't seem to get any pressure on donovan mcnabb, that my defense has among the worst 3rd down conversion rates in the league.

but when all is said and done, they did win the game today. so me very happy. :D

how'd your teams do today?

I am happy to say that the Falcons beat Tampa Bay. :)

But even more importantly to me, the U of Miami lost to Louisville yesterday. [does a little happy dance]

I watched the Bengals and Browns today. I was raised in a Browns household but I'll root for whichever Ohio team sucks the least. I don't really have a favorite NFL team, though.

When I watch college football, I always root against the big-time Florida teams. If Tennessee had held off Florida yesterday, then Miami, FSU, and Florida would have lost. Oh well--two out of three ain't bad.

omg that was a BEAUTIFUL fucking 4th quarter!!!!

    I hate the Eagles!

Yeah, they need to work on protecting Ely ALOT better!

My Colts won #2 beating Houston 43-24 - I'm pretty sure Peyton is looking PERFECT!

I'm also glad the Bills won over the Dolphins-

Now I'm watching the Jets and the Pats.....if the Jets can pull this off, I will have had a perfect day....

SL: i've seen big blue give away too many games over the years...as i said elsewhere, that game was a complete nailbiter.

IMX, both NY teams don't win in the same week very often. and looking at the way the pats are playing, it ain't looking good, i'm sorry to say.

Eilan--I root against all the Florida teams as well when it comes to college football. I was so glad to see Clemson beat FSU.

I was glad to see the Giants pull out a win in overtime, but that was an ugly game for the most part.

my giants haven't won pretty in a very, very long time, super z, but thanks. :>

A couple of nice runs after the catch by Jets' receivers put them in position to make it a game. Pennington is a great QB in my book....he just has to play an entire season for the Jets to be a contender.

But my Patriots came through when they needed to. : )

I don't follow football in any form so this is likely the last post I'll make to any football blogs this season. Occasionally I'll catch a few minutes of a Bears game if one is on TV and I happen to be forced into a chair near said TV, but that accounts for less than 10 minutes per season, tops. Now, when the Pats make it to the Super Bowl, as they've done regularly lately, I'll usually watch the last three or four minutes to see if they've won it again.

    scalwag,
I love the Jets, but I think today's game just brought the Jets and their fans back to reality after a first week win. I doubt if the will win another game. Pennington just doesnt have a strong arm to me, but there are always miracles...

elleb.....you never know. the first time the Patriots won the super bowl, I was so accustomed to the choke that when they won they game....I just sat there thinking "ok, what now?", as was everyone else in the room.

    Bite my ass! All y'all!

~grumble~ (stupid fucking Chiefs losing like losers who want to lose in a giant losing streak) ~grumble~
  • silverwhisper said on Sep 18, 2006....
HK: sorry about your chiefs. :<

elle: remember, it isn't about pennington's arm: it's about his accuracy.

The Bears have outscored their opponents 60-7 in the last two weeks.

    Anyone else afraid?

Needless to say, I'm tickled pink.

    Next stop, Minnesota!

How great would it be if we started 3-0 in the division?

Oh, we're not talking about the Bears? Well, we should be.
    :)

In regards to the Giants win over Philly, nice 4th quarter heroics. Can't count on that every week, though.
