Well in just a couple of hours I'll be heading off for my MRI. At least I can walk to the hospital, so I won't stress out on the way. Problem is this: I've never had one before. I had a CAT scan of my head done here in Prague a few years back, and after it was done the doctor strolled in with her hands in the pockets of her labcoat as required and said in English, "Mr Chromosome, I am pleased to tell you that nothing is happening inside your head."

"Thank you, Doctor," I replied. "I've been told that before but it's nice to have it confirmed by an expert..."

Seriously, though...

Mrs Chromosome tells me that these full-body MRI's can take hours, so I was wondering if I can just take in a book and read through most of it. I have lots of books in all sorts of genres, but some advice, please: what sort of book would you take? Or not take?

Any advice welcome. And it doesn't matter if you read this hours later; it could be handy for someone else.

Thanks, everyone!

you know, in retrospect i don't believe you actually can take a book: that would require your hands be in a position that probably isn't compatible w/ getting a good quality image.
