Thanks to everyone who took the time to take a peek at my photo yesterday and to leave a comment.  You gave me a big ego boost!  :-)

The county fair is going on here this weekend.  This morning I went in for the parade.  I can't believe it is so cold in July! It got down into the 50's here last night. I wore layers and was still cold.  It's always a fun parade, so I enjoyed that.

There is a live band playing tonight and I think I'm going to have to suit up in jeans and a sweatshirt.  I'm wimping out.  The music isn't really my cup of tea.  It's country.  I hope that it is the more upbeat kickin' kind.  Sad country songs depress me.  I definitely identify with them too much, so I gave up listening to them with any regularity.

I love walking through the midway.  My husband says he will go but that he won't ride on any rides.  I'll have to do that by myself if I want too.  He is such a freaking fun hater.  His mom sat with me at the parade because one of my husband's nieces came running over.  She is a cutie, so I could hold my barf back a couple of hours regarding my mother in law for her sake.  I tell you that, so I can tell you we will probably end of sitting with the in-laws at the fair for the concert.  I will have to try and block them out.  Maybe I'll drift off into a fantasy world or something.  lol

One thing strange from the parade, though.

There was a guy from one of the little nearby towns driving a firetruck. (I assume he was from the town of the firetruck he was driving.)  He looked me right in the eye and said, "Hi, CW."  The thing is that I don't have clue one who he was. I've been thinking about that all day and I still can't place him.

My computer is acting up big time.  It keeps saying that I am low on virtual memory every time I try to launch my email.  I think I've picked up some adware from somewhere.  It is slowing my whole computer down.  I'm doing a window's update right now that says it will take seven hours to download.  I'm scratching my head because I thought I was getting automatic updates all along.

Then I'm going to update my Spyware Doctor software from the free version to the more advanced.  Hopefully I'll outsmart whatever is causing the slow down.  I did a system restore again but whatever it is has hung on.  Dirty rat bast###.

I hope you are having a great weekend.

we have the carnival in our town too-

my girls are teenagers. so they go with their friends.  my son and my two sisters 3 sons and daughter will all go together with my husband and their families.

i stay with my sister who is sick on saturdays-  so i won't be home til 9ish, and i'll just watch the fireworks from my side yard.

my husband promised to bring me home a funnel cake.  that's my favorite carnival food.

    have fun at yours!

gosh, it's been years since I was able to go to a small town parade.  I love them!!!  The little town I lived in would do a 4th of July parade every year and then there would be a rodeo.  I think they also had a small fair, but since I don't do well on fast rides it was never a major draw for me.

    secret,
Funnel cake and fireworks sound like a perfect ending to a Saturday evening. :-)  I didn't have any treats and mine tonight.  It was quite a temptation, but I managed to leave them alone.  The music was great and I even danced a little.

    somethingunUSual,
Yes, Mr. DeMille.  I was ready for my closeup.

    uni,
That's one of the best things about small town life for me.  The fairs are a big deal and people of all ages come out to enjoy them.  Our rodeo will be later this fall.  I will probably go just because it is something different to do.  I won't "cowboy up" to go though.  :-)

Sounds like a nice parade and fair and everything, fun for sure I bet. I haven't been to a parade in ages, usually because when invited it is with ... ack ... the in laws, and I just don't have the tolerance anymore, lol.  To be stuck on a crowded street with them ... too many witnesses!  Sorry your computer is acting up, hopefully you can kick that little sucker in the nards soon and you'll be back up to full speed and no problems.

We have the yearly Dade County Fair and I used to go every year at the beginning but I got tired of the never ending crowds that go there.
Funnel cake is one of my favorite carnival foods also along with that corn dog on a stick and of course (don't eat it anymore) cotton candy.

For your slow computer you can download from the net  (they have a free give away version) the program called...Advanced SystemCare.   Works pretty good and I've been using it for awhile....there's a tool section that speeds up your computer for surfing on the net also.
It works for me and hope that it works for you also.
